message 205: by Maddy froehlich (new)

Maddy froehlich | 26 comments Wow what a question to ask what is your dream. Whenever someone asks me what I want to do I panic because I can honestly say I have no idea what I would like to do for an occupation. So reading threw the comments my eyes were crossing over and I was getting a headache trying to think of something to say because I really wanted to put in my few cents. So here it goes. Everything seems like I would get borred of it eventually. All I know is that I want to see the world. I want to work my way through seeing things that not many have seen before me with just a few of my belongings and just enough money to make it to my next destination. I want to learn about different coultures and ideas. The brilliant way how people from all over can see the world seemingly totally different yet totally the same. I want to fly as far as I can and maybe when I'm done and I've seen all that I desire I will go back to the place were I trully felt at home and then I can begin thinkings about the rest of my life. So thats it (:

Mystie (NerdyGoth101) | 7 comments I would love to become a photographer! Its been my dream ever since I was 9 :3 I love taking pictures of landscapes, people, and animals :)

message 218: by [deleted user] (new)

Ever since I got into reading as a young child, I have never fantasized being anything else other than an author. I think sharing your passion and changing peoples lives through writing is one of the greatest things. And how rewarding would it be to actually be able to make a living out of it? Isn't J.K. Rowling like the only author on the Forbes list? More often than not, you still have to work a day job. I've taken a huge interest in becoming a concept artist for films (it would be like winning the lottery to work in companies like Pixar or Dreamworks). I don't know if anyone shares this worry, but as someone who thrives on creativity, I feel like creative professions are a big risk - what if you don't make it big, what if you can't support yourself financially? Sorry for being such a pessimist there xD Sometimes I wish my interests were in medicine or math, I'm not too sure about this, but it seems as if the path is more paved, lol. Anyways, when I grow up, I want to travel the world, meet a great guy, raise a family and have a career that I love.

It's okay to not know what you want to do; but that is awesome. At some point in my life I want to take two years and travel Europe then two to travel Asia and so on and so forth until I have seen the world.

If you have a passion for it you will do well, because when you reach a problem you will have the will to learn and over come it. Plus, if we all liked math and science who would work at jobs where you have to be creative?

Irene (wingdesilverii) Mystie wrote: "I would love to become a photographer! Its been my dream ever since I was 9 :3 I love taking pictures of landscapes, people, and animals :)"

Good luck! I love to take pictures but couldn't make my job out if it, just remember that the camera does only part of the work and it is the person behing the camera that counts (something a professional photographer told be when I was looking to buy a camera, start simple then work up). You should try the 365 project if you haven't (starting on January first you take a picture a day that on January 1st of the next year you will print all 365 photos out and do something with them or just leave them alone) . I am doing it this year and it has been alot of fun.

message 224: by Colby (new)

Colby (colbz) I'm planning on majoring in English, more specifically creative writing. Then I'd love to write novels, but I may go into some sort of journalism for the time being.

message 225: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments I've thought a bunch about my plans for the future lately and It has slightly changed-- which is to be expected since I don't wanna lock myself down into one particular area. But for the longest time I've wanted to do something in the english/music field- that changed/narrowed down to an Editor, or a Math/English teacher. But lately I've been thinking about what i've been doing, what i like to do and what I'd like to do with my life and I've started seriously considering a job as a Therapist/High School Counselor. It's where my life seems to be leading me.

That's a really great job to have! Consellors are really important people in our society. Good on you!

message 227: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments That would be a cool job to have.

message 228: by Nikki (new)

Nikki (iamgodsprincess) | 14 comments I have few..
First, I want to be a doctor or a chemical engineer or a chemist. Then I would love to have my own school. I also wanted to be famous novelist, I want to go to France and have a world cruise. :) Then, have my own family, have 2 kids(a boy and a girl).

message 229: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Emily and Kate: Thanks, I've just had a lot of time to think and recent events in my life (and my friend's lives) have caused me to think more about it and consider what I wouldn't have probably ordinarily considered seriously.

message 230: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I think being a counselor is a very underrated job. You can do so much good in a position like that, and I wish you all possible luck if that's what you want to be.

message 231: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) It can be very underrated and I think it is mostly because they are stereotyped by those who teach us (at least where I am at this is very very true).

message 232: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments Thanks you guys! Actually it's things that my best friends have gone through (Nat being one of them) lately and they've turned to me for help since I've always broadcast a "Come talk to me if you need someone to talk to" signal to my friends and I think it's really turning into something I really wanna do with my life.

message 233: by Kate (new)

Kate | 8205 comments I really admire that.

My friends come to me a lot, and a lot of the time I feel like I've done something to help but a lot of the time I feel like I failed.

The best time when I have to give advice or something is with my best friend- she knows that what I'm gonna say might be complete hogwash and doesn't expect anything more than that, but so many times I end up giving great advice-- and vice versa. We have a great system worked out and we surprise each other with our actual advice.

message 235: by [deleted user] (new)

I would like my job to be a vet, I would like to be living in Boston, Massachusetts, and own a farm out in Vermont. I would like to have two girls, their names would be Gorgah and Martina. (FYI: This is very unlikely) :)

message 237: by Ally (new)

Ally Rardon | 7 comments In the future, I want to have gone to college to be a nurse or physical therapist. Get married by 27, and have two kids by the time I'm 33. Then maybe once my kid are out of college I really want to become an author and publish my books. I also would like I become a teacher but kids these days are extremely rude (I'm talking about the boys here) so I'd have to work on my patience but I want to be that awesome teacher that everyone loves.

message 238: by [deleted user] (new)

I want to marry a good Christian man when I'm at least 23 and have dated him for a while and have five kids, three girls and two boys. I would like to homeschool my children and be a part time author.

message 239: by Jadyn (new)

Jadyn (fldsmdfr) I want to become a interior designer! It is my biggest dream ever! As for a family, i'm not sure yet!

message 240: by Elysia (new)

Elysia (elysia_rae) I really want to be a voice actress, but I also want my art career to kick off, so I want to go to a art college in New York perhaps. And I really want to travel (especially to Germany) but flying kind of creeps me out a bit. And yeah, eventually a family but that's a LONG time from now.

message 241: by [deleted user] (new)

Editor would be pretty awesome too. Get paid to read books and critisize them and stuff? I could do that.

That is GREAT!! You should let no one get in the way of doing what you want to do. I get criticism a lot, but that doesn't stop me!!!!
