I first read the series in 4th grade. I loved the books so much that I reread them five times before 5th grade and my mom ultimately banned me from reading them again so that I could explore other literature. Instead, I stole a flashlight and read them under my bed covers late at night.

I started reading the books after watching the films (about 2 months ago). I had to do a quarentine because I had tested positive so I started reading them. And I am so happy that I did!
I was eight, my mom was reading them to me and my brother, but she wasn't going fast enough, so i read them myself. I read them all in order. After i read the book, i would watch the movie (except DH pt.1, i got to the part in the book where the movies ended, then watched it, lol)
i started reading them last year only when i got them on my birthday after being obsessed with the movies! :D
when i was younger, in my primary school days, the harry potter movies would always come up on the TV on a friday night and I was always so interested in them! My love from watching the movies when i was 10 years old grew and over the years I went through the entire book series
when I was about 7. because I wanted to watch them so badly with my brother but my parents said i have to read the books first
i was in 8th grade.. so about 14. i read them well after the movies had come out, but i loved the movies when i was little. i really got into reading for the first time in 6th grade, and i read all of the HP books in order in the 8th. i read them all on my kindle and i remember it was around Christmas, so now that is when i like to reread them.
I think I read the first book when I was 9 and the rest of the series at 11. I remember reading the series because my friend was into it and then we convinced our other friends to read it and we would watch each movie after she read the book.
I started reading the first segment of the Harry Potter Series after the release of The Order of The Phoenix . So I'd say in 2004.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was my first read and the book that got me into reading. I think I bought that book at the age of 12 but I only started reading it after one year (that was the thickest book I had that time so I wasn't really motivated to finish it) BUT once I started reading a few chapters I noticed that it's hard to put it down T^T Ques : Do you guys have any other books rec that's similar to HP?
I was a bit late to the books, Harry Potter was initially what first got me into reading. I think I was 14 or 15 years old when I started, actually looking back I think I was 14. I am now 16 and finished the series back in January of last year!
I started reading Harry Potter when I was 4. When I was 3, my mom would read them to me but then I learned to read and I read them all by myself.
I started reading them when I was 11. We went to Universal in Orlando and after seeing all the Harry Potter stuff I knew I HAD to read it all for myself. And I read the books before watching the movies, that’s the best way to do things because books are always better :)
my brother gave me the first book when i was 11 and made me watch all the movies. i didnt understand the movies and coulsn't go through the first chapter lol pandemic started and i was bored i picked up the book again and gave it a try. i was 13 and my only personality trasis was liking harry potter for a whole year. now i'm almost 16 and i started reading all the young dudes which broght me back to my harry potter phase xx
I watched the movies when I was really young because my family loved them but I didn’t read the books till quarantine
On a Thursday, in 2019. I was at a school carnival. Me and my bestie had spent all of our money, so we sneaked inside the school, since the fair was outside. We decided to go to the library and kill some time. Luckily, the librarian was a nice lady who didn't really care if we weren't allowed there lolzzAnd so, that's how I decided to read Harry Potter and became a part of the fandom :)
I watched the first movie when I was on the third book.
When I was seven my mom read me the first chapter. I could hardly read bc it’s naturally more difficult for me than it is for other people. I despised it. Then when I was nine, I got the illustrated edition and my mom read it to me. I still could hardly read. Then I loved it. My mom kept reading the series to me and I reread the first book by myself. I actually could read and I loved it. I now am thirteen turning fourteen soon and am an aspiring author and love to read more than anything. I carry a book around everywhere I go and have read Harry Potter like fifty times.
I can’t believe it’s been nearly seven years!!! I read the first book when I was in yr 4 so I was around 8-9
The obsession hasn’t left and I’m not mad about it
It was the summer before I entered second grade, and we had just moved to a new city, so I didn’t have any friends yet, so I was watching a really bad Barbie movie or something. My mom walked in and I started complaining to her that I was bored, so she turned off the tv, and handed me the first HP book. I blazed through the first one, but when I got to the second one, it got a little slower, and I had a 7 yr old’s attention span, so I stopped. I ended up picking it up again in 3rd grade, and really loving it, and then COVID hit the next year, so I restarted the series, and finished them within 4 months, because I had nothing to do. I just fell in love, and have been a complete Potterhead since 4th grade. ♥️💛💚💙
I read the first book in middle school. I waited for the hype to finish so I could read it finally. I didn't want noise from other students to influence what I could like or didn't like. I came to a conclusion that Harry Potter is an amazing book. J.K. Rowling is an amazing writer and an amazing woman.
I read them at about 10ish years old, and my family was watching the movies in order, so I read the book and then watched the movie, then read the next book and watched the next movie, ect.
I read them when I was around 6 or 7 and I think they are definitely the books that got me into reading! But now that I think about it, I was probably a bit too young because there were just a few things I didn't understand or understood incorrectly. 😂 But afterwards I read the books over and over again and also watched the movies.
I was a late Harry Potter lover. I first watched the movies at 17, in 2014. I started to read the books at 19, if I'm not mistaken. Late to the party, but here nonetheless!
I started reading it when I was 7, and my parents were like,"She won't understand it... Will she??" But I totally did, so jokes on them, I'm smarter than they think. I'm 14 now, though.
I actually read Chamber of Secrets first, probably when I was 7. By the time I was 10 (I'm going to date myself here) only the first 5 books had been released so then I had to *patiently* wait or the last two.

I read the first three books when I was in 3rd grade (The Goblet of Fire hadnt bee..."
I read them for the first time when I was 9 and 10, in 4th/5th grade but I actually read them a bit out of order because I accessed books via my school library which, despite little me thinking was giant and heavenly, actually didn't have very much books, and they wouldn't have full series, and they only had book 1, 3, 6 & 7 of the Harry Potter series, so I read book 1 and book 3 and loved them so much that my older brother found me book 4 at a charity shop (we didnt money to buy books new) so then I read that and read book 6 and 7 at the library. then I reread those 5 books so many times and loved them so much that the school librarian said she would get books 2 and 5 over the holidays and she did so the first day of year 5 I got book 2 from the library and read that and then book 5. and after that I re read them all over and over and over again
I started the series when I was nine and read all of the books before I watched the movies. My dad listened to the audiobooks at the same time I read the books, so the books hold a special place in my heart.
