Cherie (cherienb) | 2 comments Years ago I read a book, about which I can remember very little except a passage where a group of people whose intelligence level had dropped due to whatever they were exposed to in the book. They were on strike for "bigger brooms, with longer handles." Does anyone recognize this, and if you actually know what book it's from, that would be awesome!

Andrea (andreakhost) IQ 83 by Arthur Herzog.

[Note: I had no idea what the answer to the question was, but just went to google books and searched on "bigger brooms" "longer handles". Google Books amazes me sometimes.]

We have a few member forums, further down the list, where you can post new threads.

Please don't post them up here in the future :)

Everyone makes mistakes, Cherie. No worries.

We just like to keep that top one clear of anything except that message.

Have you tried the Google Group rec.arts.sf.written? The folks there have an encyclopedic knowlege of F&SF and can often identify stories by the most obscure reference.
