Charles Gonzalez | 2 comments Gretchen - a great true story about Washington could be a fascinating backdrop to a fictional story - am thinking of Stanley Weintraub's "General Washington's Christmas Farewell". It's a relatively slim volume about Washington's journey back to Mt Vernon after the War. Good luck

Gretchen Jeannette | 7 comments Charles, your recommendation sounds perfect. I've often been asked, "If you could go back and meet only one of the Founding Fathers, who would it be?" Washington, hands down.

I'll look for the book today. Thank you!

Sharper Than A Serpent's Tooth: A Fox and Shelby Mystery of the American Revolution

This is a sequel to The Saratoga Deception. That book is mystery fiction set in the prelude to the Battle of Saratoga. It intertwines real people and events into an imaginative detective mystery. The second volume, listed here has the same duo of investigators probing the murder of a spy in Connecticut.
