Are you sure we're enablers? With all the recommendations it's hard to stay focused.

I tried to leave an intro yesterday, an error occured when I pressed the 'post' button and I lost the entire intro post, which frustrated me a lot and so I left in disgust. Sorry! I'll now try again (with safeguards in place so that I won't lose the post if another error occurs)! So here goes!

HELLO! My name is Alan and I'm identified as alansplace (the name of my long defunct BBS. It had one single dedicated phone line and a single sysop, me.) on MR as well as here on GR. I'm not usually one to join groups but at the urging of Christa I've decided to join here. I've got enough of my own challenges that I don't believe that I need any more, if that's ok.

@Alan - what browser do you use? I have an add on for Firefox called Lazarus. It is a form recovery add on and its recovered things I was about to post many a time!
