Here is mine :1 J.D. Robb 48
2 Nora Roberts 46
3 Nalini Singh 29
4 Stephanie Laurens 25
5 Robyn Carr 23
6 Lynsay Sands 22
6 Lisa Kleypas 22
8 Julia Quinn 21
9 Lois McMaster Bujold 19
9 Jill Shalvis 19
11 Jim Butcher 18
12 Susan Elizabeth Phillips 16
These are mine:1. Kristen Ashley 26
2. Amanda Quick 25
3. Lisa Kleypas 21
4. Julia Quinn 17
5. Suzanne Enoch 14
6. Stephanie Laurens 14
Lol, my top 10 romance authors according to my shelves are:Catherine Coulter (49)
Stephanie Laurens (30)
Julia Quinn (22)
Christina Dodd (21)
Teresa Medeiros (16)
Kat Martin (13)
Susan Wiggs (12)
Eloisa James (10)
Bertrice Small (8)
and for tenth place, all tied with (7) are
Jo Beverley
Sandra Brown
Susan King
However, that's not an accurate list of authors I follow intently now. Some of those were authors I glommed back in the day, but don't read so much of now, notably Catherine Coulter, Kat Martin, and Susan Wiggs. Not saying they're bad authors, just that I haven't read much by them in the last few years, lol.
For sure. It says my #1 most read author is RL Stine. Which, I haven't read a book by him in over a decade. But because I shelved as read all the Goosebumps and Fear Street books I read of his when I was younger (along with many other books from back then I could remember reading), his books number the most on my shelves, lol. Totally not accurate of my reading now though!
Here' mine - 1 2614 Lora Leigh 29
2 6268 Christine Feehan 26
2 17061 Charlaine Harris 26
2 107767 Robyn Carr 26
5 137902 Richelle Mead 21
5 71688 Nalini Singh 21
7 27847 Lisa Kleypas 20
8 20248 J.R. Ward 19
9 4428 Kresley Cole 18
10 16202 Elizabeth Hoyt 16
It's a bit embarrassing that Lora Leigh is my most read author but it's because I've read all her Breeds books, Christine Feehan, all her Carpathians.
But otherwise fairly representative of my favourite authors.
Wow, really interesting to see this. Here are mine. I do notice a mesh of contemporary, PNR and historical which is accurate for me.Monica McCarty 16

9 Linda Lael Miller - 16
9 J.R. Ward - 16
I would say that it is mostly correct except for Charlaine Harris and L.J. Smith who I haven't read a book by them in a long long time.
What amazes me about these lists is the sheer number of books these authors put out! Good-quality ones, too.
I wonder why Kresley Cole isn't on my list. I'm re-reading her Immortals After Dark series via audio. Maybe the other numbers just beat hers out.

When I clicked on most read authors, it was counting the to-reads as well as the reads. I didn't think that was very representative as I might have a whole series listed as to-read
I think mine are definitely defined by how many books some of these authors have written. Most of them are go-to authors for me. I think some would have ranked higher if they would have been writing longer or have more books.1. Nora Roberts
2. J.D. Robb
3. Jill Shalvis
4. Charlaine Harris
5. Marie Force
6. Robyn Carr
7. Bella Andre
8. Susan Mallery
9. Elizabeth Lowell
10. Rachel Gibson
11. Kate Perry
12. Brenda Novak
12. Nicholas Sparks
12. Karen White
15. Kristin Higgins
My list is skewed by the series that I've read. If I take out series authors like JR Ward, then my most read is John Grisham, Nicholas Sparks and Terry McMillan.
Oleander wrote: "When I clicked on most read authors, it was counting the to-reads as well as the reads. I didn't think that was very representative as I might have a whole series listed as to-read"Yes, they should definitely fix that.
I'll update again in a few days, in case more people post. If someone wants to revise their list, that's fine - I'll adjust, if I can figure it out.
Cathy wrote: "Very interesting. The top 3 authors all write historical romance."That is interesting, Cathy.
Here's my top 5 most read authors, 1. Veronica Blade
2. Jennifer L. Armentrout
3. Kristen Ashley
4. R.L. Mathewson
5. Olivia Cunning
Hmmm...I hadn't heard of your first one, Shelby. I'll have to check her out. Ditto what Pamela said: Nice!
I just joined this group and this seemed interesting to check out although I don't know how accurate it is since I haven't kept my bookshelf up to date.Roberta2 > Reviews > Most Read Authors
