Actually they were pretty well informed and although their execution of knowledge was done in a catty, almost self-righteous way, it drove home the point about how unhealthy the omnivore diet of meat and dairy is. There is much more and better research than Skinny Bitch out there on the pros of a vegan lifestyle.
It's not the only healthy choice out there. You can still eat meat, and have things with milk in them that are healthy for you, a vegan lifestyle is not the only source of being healthy, so obviously they are ill-informed, just sayin.
If you are interested in learning more about plant-based diets, veganism and the horrors from the meat and dairy industries, check out the films Forks over Knives or Food, Inc. as well as many other wonderful books out there. Skinny Bitch certainly isn't the end-all be all. There is a lot of information out there about the vegan diet, the animal abuse that occurs in factory farming, and healthy living.
I just didn't care for thier style of writing. For myself personally there are better books out there for a vegan diet. I myself was a vegetarian for many years before switiching back to eating meats and having certain dairy's back into my life.....so imho this book just sucked. Not going to deny the animal abuse that occurs in some factory farming, though it is not all places. It IS terrible, there is always the alternative if avaialbe which is to farm our own animals and see to it that they indeed do not endure abuse in your care.
