So I wasn't sure where to put this, but I figured it fit in this topic as well as any topic.
A couple weeks ago I read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Right after I finished reading the book, I wrote my Seventeen Magazine contest entry. A couple days ago I put the contest entry into one of those generator things that tells you what author you write like and it said I write like Ray Bradbury which excited me.
I told my mommy about that and she asked if I had just read anything by him and I was like DUDE. O___o
So yeah. I think what you read influences what you write quite a bit. It'd be interesting to do a study on it if I had the time/resources. xD

Any comments?
That sounds... interesting. It's not the type of story I'd usually read and it sounds like it might get a bit confusing, but if you think it sounds like something you'd like to write, go for it!
