Which story is Heartbeat?

message 254: by [deleted user] (new)

I have a character that's dead at the beginning of the story, and then I kill a main character off in the dystopian novel I need to write.

My failed NaNo that hasn't been updated in almost four months.

I believe out of the eight novels I've written, someone died in the first chapter of all of them except ... three. And in two of those three, someone died at the end instead. And people died in some of the other five too. So ... yeah. I don't find it that sad when people die at the beginning of a book.

I could not imagine a world without music. It was totally like that in Riding Tycho, though, and it had a really subtle but entirely disturbing effect on the story.

Indeed. Basically anything creative is banned, so there's no art or creative writing.

You know you're a writer if you go to an amusement park and pretty much all you could think about was how cute on of your character couples would be on a date there.

Shreya=Drastically Random. Find the emoticon. | 1078 comments You know you're a writer if your stomach is growling and it's around the time when you usually fix yourself a snack and your piano lesson is in a few minutes so you really should hurry up and eat but you can't tear yourself away from your editing.

I JUST EXPERIENCED THAT MYSELF.

message 290: by Terra (new)

Terra You know you're a writer if you have dreams about writing your story, and wake up actually writing it.

message 291: by Terra (new)

Terra You know you're a writer if you win a writing contest, and get to go to the Bahamas just by writing a five word story. This is totally unrealistic, of course, but I just wanted to put this. :)

You know you're a writer if you start to wonder what your character is doing right now, and then remember your characters aren't real ...

Shreya=Drastically Random. Find the emoticon. | 1078 comments *ahem*

You know you're a writer if you say you'll only be writing for 15 minutes, and it ends up being 1 hour.

message 294: by Emily (new)

Emily (azara3) | 18 comments You know you're a writer when you talk to your characters in math, journey through your world(s) in history, incorporate lessons in science to your fledgling plot and rules, and somehow make all English assignments (somehow) relate to your story. Yeah. That's how.

You know you're a writer when you're thinking way too hard about your Playwriting assignment because you can't just use any old idea, and you have to come up with an idea for a play by Monday DAMMIITTTTT.

^^ I DO THAT lol

message 299: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments @Destiny: Me too.

You know if you're a writer if you fall in love with a character that otherwise you would find totally repulsive if they were real.

(E.g., my serial killer character. He's actually pretty adorable. :3)

message 300: by tesni (new)

tesni (akhmatova) | 5031 comments You know you're a writer if you refer to the seasons of the year as Winter, Spring, Summer and SJFHVASKRFG NANOWRIMO AND THE PRECEEDING PREPARATION PANIC AHHHH WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO.
