That's why I admire my cell phone. I can write the idea in lengthy notes.

I...I don't know what that means.

Merary | 5 comments You know you're a writer if . . .
You keep on polishing your writing.
You randomly write scenes for your novel on your notebook.

. . .
That's all I can think of right now.

My liiiiife. Except I haven't written about airship pirates, but ... you know. Other characters.

Nepeta wrote: "You know you're a writer when you see a costume at the costume shop and you're like 'That would look so great on my character.'"

Ah, I do that all the time. But it's usually with clothes in stores since I write realistic fiction. xD But still.

message 709: by Brigid ✩, No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. (new)

Brigid ✩ | 11973 comments Mod
Haha. Sometimes I look up random pictures of clothes if I want to describe what someone is wearing ... I'm not good at thinking up imaginary outfits.

message 710: by Elliott (new)

Elliott | 22634 comments Mod
Me either. I'm not a very fashionable person, even when I have real clothes to choose from. xD

message 711: by Brigid ✩, No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. (new)

Brigid ✩ | 11973 comments Mod
Heh heh yeahhh. I mean, I think I dress fairly well, but still ... my entire wardrobe is from thrift stores. Or from the free pile at my college. Yup.

message 712: by Elliott (new)

Elliott | 22634 comments Mod
Yes! Thrift stores are fantastic. I hate spending a ridiculous amount of money on clothes.

message 713: by Brigid ✩, No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. (new)

Brigid ✩ | 11973 comments Mod
I agree. Why should I spend $20+ for a brand new shirt when I can get a lightly-used shirt for like $4-6? Haha.

But back on topic...

You know you're a writer when you're boogie-boarding and you space out because you're starting to think about your new story idea and just had some great big epiphany about it. And then a large wave about the size of your epiphany comes along and knocks you backwards because you weren't paying attention.

Ummm I dunno. I buy my own clothing nowadays. But when I was younger, yes. XD

You know if you are a writer, if you don't care as much about that^ and you just like to write.

*Cries* I don't even want to think about all the rejection. Anyway.

You know you're a writer when ... at the beach, there's this insane family sitting next to yours, and they're getting into all these crazy non-stop screaming matches, and your grandmother turns to you and says, "Oh Brigid, you must gather material from so many places."

You know you're a writer when you just spent like almost four hours hanging out with one of your other writer friends (whom you met through the Internet which isn't sketchy at all) and in that time frame you went to a library, to Barnes & Noble, and then sat together and discussed plot ideas for a long time and it just made your day so fantastic. :D

But YOU KNOW YOU'RE A WRITER if you are planning to spend your whole Saturday at a writing convention in a library! :)

You know you're a writer if you've rewritten an entire book more times than you can count and then you hate it more than when you first started and you just want to throw it in a fire. So then you start something else in the hopes that it won't fail like your last project did, but it always does anyway. And yet you keep writing because you keep believing it will somehow get easier ... YUP.

message 746: by Anastasia (new)

Anastasia (booksteainsanity) | 955 comments That sounds pretty frustrating.
