I always love voting in this and seeing the results, which are usually a far remove from my ballot. For any first-time voters: if you find the ballot overwhelming (I do), remember you only have to vote in six categories for your ballot to be valid.

Ooh. This will take much thought. Good thing it's open for 2 weeks

Also, can anyone explain what the guiltiest pleasure category is about? I assume that the most disappointing is the one we looked forward to the most but was least what we hoped for.

For me, Guiltiest Pleasure is the book that I am sort of embarrassed to admit I liked. A book that maybe in my head I knew was terribly written or beyondo Over the Top, but I loved anyway.

You're right on the money with Most Disappointing. It used to be Worst, but they decided that a lot of people were really voting for their Most Disappointing but calling it worst.

I'm curious what people put--especially for the best contemporary romance (I put Instant Temptation by Shalvis), Best Paranormal ( Maybe This Time by Crusie), Funniest (10Things I love About you) , and most disappointing (Christmas Eve at Friday Harbour). I put Mina in The Iron Duke for most kickass heroine--I wonder if anyone else will.... Forbidden Rose swept most of my votes and Courtney Milan was best new author for me.

The AAR results are in. http://www.likesbooks.com/AnnualReade...

Last Night's Scandal cleaned up.
Best Romance
Best Historical Romance Set in the U.K.
Best Romance Heroine
Best Romance Couple

JQ won funniest (was there even any competition?)
I'm pretty sure The Forbidden Rose won for Best historical romance set outside the UK and is just mislabeled.

And many other good books there. (Is steampunk really considered paranormal? Huh.)

What I don't see is the guiltiest pleasure category...

Guiltiest Pleasure was LOVER MINE by J.R. Ward.

I was pretty pleased with the results. Especially LAST NIGHT'S SCANDAL's wins.

Though many of the wins just made me realize how many good books I just didn't get to this past year. There is just not enough time!

Hm, Manda, what does it say about me that I read all but 3? Maybe I do need to cut back on the books a tad...
