Say what you will, but the Bay City Rollers had some dynamite power-pop tunes.
Whether they actually wrote any of them is another matter entirely.

I wore the hell out of their album when I was a kid.

I just spent an hour on my bike on the trainer, listening to John Denver songs. I love the pure sound of his voice, just like I did Karen Carpenter's. He's not as good when he goes up-tempo, so I tend to skip those.

I love the Bay City Rollers...and they are GREAT for drowning out my one boss that is clearly going deaf and walks around talking to himself incessantly .

I actually love John Denver, Phil. I love to sing LOUD (when I am alone) in the car to John Denver songs; they just feel good to sing.
Edit: I used to get into "debates" with my roommate's mom (super conservative southern Church of Christ lady) in Lubbock about Johnny boy being a stoner. He so obviously was a toking Colorado hippie! She wouldn't accept it (she loved him). I asked her what she thought he meant by "sittin round the camp fire & we pass the pipe around" or whatever that one song says about passing the pipe around. She was convinced it was some kind of corn cob pipe with regular tobacco like her Papaw used to smoke on the back porch or something...yeah.

When I saw the Who at the Pontiac Silverdome in December of 1975 (total attendance was over 75,000 - what was I thinking?), Toots & the Maytals opened and were unceremoniously booed and bottled off the stage. That was a shame.
The Who's set was incredible but the sound quality in the Dome was perhaps the worst I've ever heard. And there were enough Pontiac cops on hand to put a serious dent in the day’s receipts at Dunkin’ Donuts.

*SERIOUSLY jealous*
*SERIOUSLY jealous*

I can't recall who opened for the Who in 1980 when they appeared at Hilton Coliseum. The main thing I remember is the stoned teenage boy who kept repeating, "Thaa WHooooo!" over and over and over. I nearly smacked him in the kisser, but I don't think he'd have noticed.

Saw them in 1973 as well, "Quadrophenia" tour, at Cobo Hall with Lynyrd Skynyrd opening.

Shall I scroll back to 1971 or have you had enough?

A few songs here and there, but I don't think I've ever owned any of their albums.

Okay, so the sarcasm pic...love it! Tried to friend you...but it won't accept my answer of Janet Wright. So, I gave up.
I wanted to be Kim Wilde in the 80's...now I find it amusing that a bunch of British kids were singing about being the "kids in America".

Ha! I used to listen to my dad's LP of the Grease sound track all the time...NOT really appropriate for a 10 year old! I most remember his Grease, Earth Wind & Fire, The Beach Boys, Captain 'n' Tannille, Bill Cosby bits and then this funny limerick 45 about a girl who rode her bike down a cobblestone pike...again, not AT ALL appropriate for a 10 year old!
"Dead Flowers" - Rolling Stones
I don't give a shit what anyone says, the best rock and roll is always infused with a dash of heroin, which keeps you young and kills you early.

Sorry to hear that Kyle. I'm not advocating that anyone duck into a bathroom stall and start chasing the dragon - perish the thought (as much shit as I've done in my life, I've always steered clear of the stuff) - but it seems like I'm always drawn to junkie rock. Keef, Johnny Thunders, Dee Dee Ramone, the Stooges, ad nauseum.

No, it's on my to-read list. It hasn't shown up at my local Barnes & Noble yet.
