"One of the Boys" - Mott the Hoople
Since You're Gone - The Cars
"Twist and Shout" - Rodney Dangerfield
Nearly eight years he's gone and I still miss the guy.
"Sometimes Good Guys Don't Wear White" - The Standells

Somebody kill me. I woke up with Key Largo in my head and it's taken over my world. My whole damn world is centered around having it all just like we did in Key Largo.
GRRRR! I thought yesterday was bad? Today the earworm boring into my head is a Beetles song. I believe it is called A Wonderful Christmas-time. Really?!?!?! Com'on now! Just pour acid in my ears. At the risk of being skewered........I fucking HATE The Beetles!
"Department of Youth" - Alice Cooper

Chock-full of berserk sleaziness and bad craziness, Carroll’s amphetamine, amphibian warble and stripped-down paean to living fast, dying young, and leaving a beautiful corpse might not be everyone’s cup of joy, but “People Who Died” is a masterpiece of resistor-frying chaos.
If you don’t hear it soon, hair will grow on your palms.
In high school I was obsessed with Jim Carrol. I read "The Basketball Diaries" about 100 times. These days for me, it does not hold up. When I read him now, (Rest in Peace, Jim) I can only think, oh you self-absorbed, self-destructive bastard.I still love "People Who Died," however.
I am conflicted, I know.

I haven't read "The Basketball Diaries" in years, but loved it way back when.
But there was a time when I was - to use your words - obsessed with this song. Always thought Carroll sounded like he was trying to outrun an avalanche.

Clark, have you watched the video from the movie, "The Basketball Diaries" of this song? Not bad. It kinda makes my heart race.

Yes, but I've never actually seen the movie itself.

Thank you Jim. I'm new to the whole site in general, so I am just finding my way round- thank you for the welcome though, that's very kind.

Always thought those guys were geniuses if for nothing else than the song title, "New York's Alright If You Like Saxophones."

Clark, I just caught that you were listening to Twist & Shout-Rodney Dangerfield. I miss him, too. Back to School is a favorite.
Only for You - Heartless Bastards (love this song... kinda stays with you; although, I felt the same way about Pumped Up Kicks & Black Velvet at one time)
All of These Things - Art Neville (I had forgotten about this gem & am very glad it was reintroduced into my musical lexicon)

I still think of that movie every time I see a Tim Burton kids' movie.
