World Cat says 507 too. i noticed this with another book today too, and I believe it was the same series. the difference was due to maps I think?? are there maps at the end, or beginning of the book?Question for another librarian.........Are maps included in page count? ( I would assume so as they are relevant to the story)
The maps are at the beginning, as well as a synopsis that is numbered i,ii, etc.
I am going to have to hope someone else jumps in here, but I do think these pages are counted. If you add those pages to 492, does it add up to 507?

So, just for clarification,
As I understand it NOTHING that appears BEFORE numbered pages is included, however some things are included at the end, such as maps, author notes, indexes would be. What else would be included?
My copy has 491 pages.
