Thanks! I've been a goodreads member for awhile but haven't really gotten into it until talking with an author friend last Saturday. I didn't know all these cool groups were out there.

I'll definitely have to check out those other topics. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Charlsie, I am sorry that I missed your post. Welcome to our group. I have been a little behind and I apologized I didn't welcome you and Belle sooner. This is a great group and everyone is great in sharing new books that they uncover. So again, welcome to both of you!!

message 130: by Belle (new)

Belle Blackburn Thanks, Sandy. The research into "modern" medicine of the time was almost like reading voodoo. I found a book with daybooks of doctors practicing in the mid 1800s and was able to get a lot from those. Of course in 100 years they will look back at us in wonderment. I often wonder if they will call it the Age of Chemicals. I work in medicine so I'm allowed to criticize it. ;)

Howdy, y'all!

Don Kean (drdonckeanext) | 3 comments Hello my name is Don. I love southern history , especially the 19th century in The American Civil War era. To me it was the age of pure chivalry.

Hi Don!! Welcome!! I would have to agree with you about the Civil War era being the age of chivalry. I will admit that I do read a few books that are not stories from that time period, but very rarely. I make a search through Amazon looking for books of that time. So glad to have another enthusiast join our group.

message 149: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 1 comments Not the first genre I'd choose to get interested in, but I read the Wendy Lindstrom novel "When I Fall in Love" and ironically I (well) fell in love. And now suddenly, I feel a strange and insatiable urge to read the entire Grayson brother series and books like it.

And while I fully predict this urge to subside (after it realizes it mistakenly stumbled into the wrong vessel), this group seems the apropos venue for expressing the pleasure I had in reading this book. When I Fall in Love (Grayson Brothers #7) by Wendy Lindstrom
