That's what I should've done. XD
Haters...yeah okay. I don't hate...I just dislike. And yeah...the wolves talking was pretty cheesy...I was trying not to laugh during the movie.
Yeah it did...they were doing a Harry Potter by splitting it...but it fell short of what HP did in Deathly Hallows...ahhh well live and learn.
HP 7 needed 2 be split. Too much story there. Breaking Dawn has not got enough in it to be given 2 parts. Still the money suckers are there. They do it better than vampires most times.
Yeah it was mostly for the cash...that's mostly what any movie maker thinks about is the $$$$$$ flashing in front of their eyes. Breaking Dawn had one of the worst endings in book history...nobody died...and everyone lived happily ever after...it sickened me.
Natalie wrote: "Yeah it was mostly for the cash...that's mostly what any movie maker thinks about is the $$$$$$ flashing in front of their eyes. Breaking Dawn had one of the worst endings in book history...nobody ..."LOL. Sucks to be us huh?
I have read and enjoyed both series. Stephanie Meyer is a beautiful writer and that is what I enjoyed most about the series. Harry Potter is untouchable. J.K. Rowling is a genius. She created another world entirely. The story is brilliant and the characters very real.
I don't think Stephanie Meyer ever intended to write something in the same category as Harry Potter. They may both technically be fantasy novels but the stories are so completely different there is no reason to compare them. It's like comparing apples and oranges- they are both fruits but that's about all they have in common.
The two are completely different, and good in their own ways...so let's just say Harry Potter is a good book for adventure and wizardry, and Twilight is a good romance/vampire/werewolf type book. Okay...the end. :P

Well, i hate 2 say it but in this day and age there has to be a contest and there has to be a winner. I'm afraid Twilight didn't come out on top.
Well honestly those two shouldn't be in the same "contest". I prefer HP, yes, but I just don't like that everything is being compared to Twilight...it's not the god of books...and it never will be.
Burger King vs McDonalds, CNN vs Fox blah blah blah it's always gonna be the same. People love a winner. They'll choose one whether the option is there or not.
Well yeah...and it's stupid...people need to grow up and learn that an opinion is a preference not a winner.
Natalie wrote: "Well yeah...and it's stupid...people need to grow up and learn that an opinion is a preference not a winner."When thta happens, these dicussions will stop. but it ain't happing anytime soon.
Sammy wrote: "Natalie wrote: "Well yeah...and it's stupid...people need to grow up and learn that an opinion is a preference not a winner."When thta happens, these dicussions will stop. but it ain't happing ..."
Yeah, and I like discussing...don't get me wrong...it's just when people violate your opinions b/c it doesn't agree perfectly with theirs. Sure people like Twilight, but I don't, and people that do like it should respect my opinion as I respect their's. Ahhh but then the world wouldn't turn if we didn't have those people.
Chris wrote: "They are two totally different series concerning two totally different subjects, I repeat they are different stories. Neither is better than the other because they should not be compared. Twilight ..."I think it's funny you put freaky pregnancies. I couldn't stop laughing for like a minute. I have read both series and I think they are different but both good. You are right it is freaky pregnancy

I didn't say you disrespected my opinion...I was clearly talking about other people I have had the displeasure of talking to. When people take books like Twilight too seriously, it begins to become bothersome.
And speaking of freaky pregnancies...that one was disgusting, and it made it seem like SMeyer was high on whatever drug she took to write that book.
Natalie wrote: "And speaking of freaky pregnancies...that one was disgusting, and it made it seem like SMeyer was high on whatever drug she took to write that book."ha- as a mormon, I don't think she can even have coffee!
Last night (Thanksgiving night) I saw B.K. again and still love it! I wish that Edward would sparkle more at the island!Twi-hardy Rachel:D
I don't take anything seriously besides my life, my job, and my college career. That's about it. XD Fantasy stays fantasy and should never ever cross that reality line ever.
ok so i had a very hard time deciding but harry potter is wayyyyyy better bc it will be a classic and twilight is just a trend that will appear for a few years and will become a thing of the past unlike harry potter which will forever be an exellent serise and are great piece of writing.
I know trends that have lasted longer than that. Trust me...and HP is great writing...even people I know who hate it, seem to agree it has some wonderful writing. If it wasn't great writing people wouldn't read it. And honestly Twilight won't be around much longer, since something new will pop up, and the human race will have an ADD moment and switch to that fad.
Natalie wrote: "I know trends that have lasted longer than that. Trust me...and HP is great writing...even people I know who hate it, seem to agree it has some wonderful writing. :)
Ehhh...I did think of that when i typed it. I don't think Twilight has great writing...but it has that clingy type feel that pulls readers in...that's why I read all 4 of them...didn't care about the characters, just wanted to see what would happen next. Sadly none of them died...so I was purely angered by that.
Harry Potter has more action in it and probably appeals more to a larger range of readers where twilight is mainly teenage girls. I personally LOVE harry potter and i believe it's genius and the plot goes all sorts of places but still relates back to Harry needing to kill Voldemort, where as twilight is more of this love between two people and the obstacle that are in the way. I would rather read twilight than harry potter but that's just the type of person i am but i think harry potter has a better story line, more of a hero against the world effect
Kimber~!! wrote: "Natalie wrote: "I know trends that have lasted longer than that. Trust me...and HP is great writing...even people I know who hate it, seem to agree it has some wonderful writing. If it wasn't great..."HP has been going 4 13 years.
ummm let's see Twilight has mediocre writing, forgettable characters, vampires that are complete pussies, and no morals besides that the most important thing in life is to have a boyfriend. And it's just a fad...give a few more years...the readers will find something else to cling onto...it always happens.
Nah I don't notice...since I don't really care. XD Popular culture doesn't really play well with me. I always go against everything anyways. :P
It's hard for me to choose between my two favorite series. But if my life depended on my choosing, I think that I would have to choose Twilight. It's all about romance and fantasy...two of my favorite things. Right now, Twilight is the big trend. Harry Potter had its time in the spotlight. Now its time for the throne of fame to be passed to a different series. Move over Harry Potter...Twilight's stealing your spotlight!
I keep wondering what the next 'big' thing will be. I'm seeing Fallen angels, and demons coming into play. Please I seriously hope that these authors aren't going to destroy Fallen angels any further. :/ Clearly these people don't understand a damn thing about them.
Natalie wrote: "I keep wondering what the next 'big' thing will be. I'm seeing Fallen angels, and demons coming into play. I'm seriously hoping this doesn't turn to a new obsession.
Rachel wrote: "It's hard for me to choose between my two favorite series. But if my life depended on my choosing, I think that I would have to choose Twilight. I'm gonna agree that angels/demons seem to be the 'next big thing' on the fantasy line tho. :)
Sadly that almost every angel book I have read, the mythology is all wrong. The Fallen angels are pussies, and they can't even stand up for themselves. Come on...an angel in the Bible destroyed a whole city with one movement of his hand...paranormal writers these days can't even use resources to save their lives.
Natalie wrote: "Sadly that almost every angel book I have read, the mythology is all wrong. The Fallen angels are pussies, and they can't even stand up for themselves. Come on...an angel in the Bible destroyed a w..."LOL so true. They're all teenagers looking 4 love...with wings. :S
Sammy wrote: "Natalie wrote: "Sadly that almost every angel book I have read, the mythology is all wrong. The Fallen angels are pussies, and they can't even stand up for themselves. Lucifer was an angel until the War of Heaven and he was then sentenced to rule in Hell...god I'm not even Catholic and I even studied up on this stuff...since I think angels are pretty badass.
I like the angels in Supernatural. Cas, Gabriel and Balthazar were the best! :DLucifer was pretty bad ass as well. :P
I dont think so there is any similarities in Harry Potter and the Twilight series...but occationally it may resemble the fiction behind the movies..
