ahhhh i am defiantly twilight series... i like the harry potter movies but i SOOOOO dont like the books! They are kinda more boring than the movies

This hurts my soul a little bit. Harry Potter all the way. The character development is so much better and the relationships are deeper, opposed to the shallowness of Bella.

It's been like 8 or so years since I tried to read the first harry potter book, and I think that at the age of 18, I had missed my window of enjoying the series by about 10 years...wish I had read it as a kid.
I think its a close call but twilight is obviously the best book in the world but harry potter movies are better then twilight movies

I actually think that Rosalie has wayyy more depth than Bella.Rosalie was raped and abused by someone she hoped to marry and love. She hoped to have children one day and the reason she's such a wench to Bella is because Bella is so willing to give up something she had no choice over. That's the story behind Rosalie.
Bella throws herself off cliffs to hear voices. She should get that checked out.
No....it's not. most of the characters are one sided and it's really sickening how obsessive she is over Edward. Like girls seriously don't act like that and the one's that do need a reality check. The writing is OK, she seriously needs to edit better. It's not deep because the Twilight series is a gross interpretation of a dumb girl who needs to be saved by a big strong man and how all her decisions clearly revolve around him.
Do you think that's deep? someone who doesn't know how to think for themselves?

i totally not into comparing two very different books. it feels really unfair for both of them. Comparison meaning description of similarities. The question is 'what i think of the comparison?' hm.. totally different, i can't compare them.
Harry Potter is any day better than Twilight. Though I liked both the series, Twilight cannot ever match the level Harry Potter goes up to.

I agree with Annalisa! You cannot compare JK Rowling's books to anything. She has grabbed the interests of all ages, genders, and languages! Nothing can compare to that. Also, The women in Harry Potter are much more independent women who don't need men to please them. For example, Minerva, She didn't have a husband and she was my favorite character!

Why not both? The books come from amazing authors, why do we always have to have one superior to the other? Plus, all these things are based on opinions. One answer will NEVER be right to everyone. Its all in your own choice of genre, as well.

You can sit and analyze Harry Potter for hours and hours. Some people like that. Me included. The more you look into the story, the more you find. That being said, some people don't like it. They want a mindless story. They get why Bella chose Edward. There's not much psychological depth to her. Just "I did this because of this."
It's not fair to compare the two, especially on Twilight. Because sole Twilight fans will defend their fandom without much other background information. Not to say that Harry Potter fans that are also Twilight fans will also defend Twilight, but mostly these will defend Harry Potter.
Basically, a person who picks up Twilight and hasn't read before will prefer mindless books. Ex. City of Bones or Shiver ../?
A Harry Potter fan is able to appreciate a greater variety of books. including Twilight and those mentioned before. Also more complicated titles.
The best thing about Harry Potter is that it can be enjoyed by anybody. Adults, children, teenagers, babies...okay, maybe not babies...while the only demographic that Twilight really appeals to is teenage girls.
