Twilight v. Harry Potter?
I think Harry Potter will win.You know, Twilight is pretty good, but Harry Potter i freaking awesome! - And it is still a great book, altough you have read it many times.
let me just say that harry potter and twilight are not alike at all and i dont understand why people compare them(besides they are both book/movie phenominas) but as long as we are compareing them i will say this twilight is easily romance and hp is mainly adventure so it is easy to see why HP fans hate twilight and twilight hates HP while fans of both adventure and romance are stuck in the middle. HP had a very clear main problem kill voldemort with alot more smaller problems in the way to make the main problem even more intense.Twilight though the problem was not as clear there was mainly just a series of problems which were edward or jacob and the volturi and the treaty between the cullens and the wolves.and all these problems were mainly spilled out in the last book as in HP the smaller problems were solved in each book.
HP has more of a wider audience from age 8 to 20-30 male and female when twilight range is 10 to 17 females. but twilight is alot more modern then HP depening on who you are this could be good or bad if you like the classic magic or fairytales you probaly like hp then twilight.
i have read both twilight and harry potter and the extra books with it like beetle and the bard for harry potter and the short second life of bree tanner for twilight and i have seen all the movies for both series and i have to say i loved both the series alot .so in conclusion i have to say i am team twilight/harry potter!!!!!:)

Times have changed and I guess it's safe to say that people read more often now (despite the advancement in technology) than before because books are much easier to get a hold of nowadays.

duhh...twilight saga is good but harry potter series is the best! nothing can compete..i read all twilight saga novels..n believe me they're far, very2 far of being even equals to harry potter novels..

I think that the only reason people like twilight is because of the movie!I mean twilight hardly reached out to anybody before the movie but as soon as the Edward/Bella romance got on screen people went all gushy
Now Harry potter made it self known the minute it came out in book stores
Hp didn't NEED a movie to make it famous
twilight needed it for sure
And any ways Bella is to whinny in the books

now i understand where you are coming from but i knew a lot of people who read twilight way before the movies came out and the books are way better then the movies i've read both harry potter and twilight books and seen all the movies and yes i understand a lot of people read the books when movies started coming out and alot of people liked the books so what if twilight needed an extra push to get this popular also remember harry potter the books came out before twilight so its diffrent generations and DIFFERENT PEOPLE! they are both really good story lines but very diffrent from each other keep that in mind.

well ya but i knew 30 people out of 2 elementary schools (5th graders) , 2 middle schools (6th &7th)
and anothe 23 ppl out of a high school (9th &10th) and then a movie came out and it was all they could talk about yet none compared it to the book cause none read it

I would be so insulted If I was JK Roiwling first off Rowling worked her ass off for 4years just on plotting and characterization alone and this woman just comes in with her half baked wet dreams and not even bothering do any reseach on writting a novel or vampires ( i can say this because i have read the saga thats money I'll never see again)anyways there have nothing in comman HP is a childrens book and twilight is a YA book and there are about differant things and HP's wrting is in a whole leage of it own where as Twilight seems almost fanfictiony to conclude this rant Twilight sucks and fred weasley rules RIP

Yeah, where is the competition. It's getting old listening to Twilight fans obsess and fight over which series is better. Even though I, myself, am a Twilight fan, I'll always be a bigger Harry Potter fan. The Twilight saga, I really loved the books, but JKR created a whole other world and tongue. And she made my childhood filled with curiosity and creativity. I'm sorry but Twilight just did not have the depth and meaning and adventure like Harry Potter did. Meyer's world is fascinating and heart-warming, but nothing could give me chills like HP did. So like I said I enjoyed the twilight saga, but the Harry Potter world is by far the best. No matter what anyone says otherwise.

Don't get me wrong I love both series, in fact I was obsessed with Twilight. But that died down and I started to realize how much better HP is. Yes both series got people reading, but HP has been around for years and has got kids reading at a young age! And in my opinion, the earlier a kid starts to read, the better! HP has been a part of our lives since 1997. When this ends, we will be sad, but those who are truly a HP fan will always remain loyal to him. HP actually gives a good plot and makes sense unlike Twilight in my opinion. So in my opinion, it's pretty obvious that Harry Potter is much better by far. If I had to choose between the two for my child to read in the future; or for any person who never read HP or Twilight, I would suggest HP. I am and always will be a HP fan.
While the books can not be compared in the least, the movies though... I can't watch twilight with out thinking about Harry Potter.. I mean COME ON! Cedric Diggery was killed by Voldemort and turned in to a vampire LMAO! on my facebook there is an app called Status Shuffle and one of the humor statuses is " One day I want to get in the middle of a crowd of Twilight fans and scream : OH MY GOD IT'S CEDRIC DIGGERY!"

I don't think you can compare Harry Potter to any other series, it's unique. Compare Twilight to any other stupid vampire series, but don't even think about comparing it to Harry Potter, because we know who's going to win each time....that's right HP.
Twilight will never compare with Harry Potter, its as simple as that.

NO QUESTION OR DOUBT!!!!! When thinking of just the books, Twilight Saga wins hands down. The movies however, Harry Potter seems to have been Made with higher quality (graphics and all) so it seems the are at an impasse.
Twilight does not win because the moment Jacob and/or Edward charge towards Harry he'll just do his shabba-dabba-ding-dong and they'll turn into stuff...

Bloody hell... Why the hell is twilight now the base for which we measure and compare every other YA book? It's just ridiculous. Can we get back to comparing books which are actually similar in genre, story and class.Because even though this whole discussion is completely pointless, I might as well say that Twilight isn't even in the same class as Harry Potter.

I still feel Harry Potter is Epic and has better movies...but my female side says R O B P A T T I N S O N! E D W A R D! V A M P I R E S! I love The Twilight Saga and always will..I need to see Breaking Dawn 1 & 2 this November and next, to decide.
