Need Help Finding Book

I checked my last iTunes purchases and sure enough, there was the title of the free ebook I got through the iBook store.
I've already found the ebook for the Kindle and will have to read it on my Android phone. I can't get the Kindle for the PC software to work on my laptop!
Thanks for your help!

First Light Chronicles Omnibus by Randolph Lalonde
So far it's pretty interesting!

Fortunately it was! I filed a police report and have already gotten an insurance (partial) reimb.
Not sure if l'll get another IPAD or a Kindle 3.
Kiiiiiinnnnnnnnddddddddddlllllllllleeeeeeeee
Unless you do comics, then go with the iPad. :P

I had my IPad since 29 April 2010. One of the first wifi and 3G 32GB IPads. I really got attached to it and finding it hard to get along without it. There are so many things you can do with an IPad but just for reading, I think a Kindle 3 might be nice.
I'll probably pick up the Kindle 3 at $139 and then sell it on Ebay after the new IPad 2s are released.
I'm trying to remember the name of the book but for the life of me, I cannot not.
The story starts off with an interesting battle scene where a group of starships are hiding in an asteroid field prior to attacking a huge space station.
Now, it turns our that this scene was all a simulations conducted via a space academy computer but the people running the simulations were a mix of civilians and ex-military who had broken into the classified sim computer just to have some fun and a challenge.
The main character is now a lowly cargo manager, ex-Lt. Commander in the Space Forces, and his team who win all the sims are just every day people doing every day jobs (one runs a Chinese restaurant).
I got to the point where this main character has been caught doing the sims by the Admiral running the space station he is on and gives him the option of going to prison for breaking into the classified academy sim computer or leading his team through another extremely difficult simulation as a Trainee Captain (starship).
Anyone remember a book like that at all? It was part of a chronicle series I think.
Sorry for the long post.
