TC | 1 comments A friend of mine suggested Prescriptions of a Poet:Remedies of the Heart to me, written by a friend of hers (African-American Female). This book is a compilation of 30 poems (some of which are spoken word) about life, love and love of self. Its a pretty cool book, and sometimes I feel like it took the words right out of my mouth. Check it out if you have the chance its available on most websites. The author(L. C. Arrington) has a website www.honestly-speaking.org

Nara Walker (prettyism) I really like fungus grotto, it's a comic book

Bliss (blissreads) | 2 comments I'm reading "Foxy: My Life in Three Acts" by Pam Grier. I love biographies and this one is a compelling read. Ms. Grier has overcome a lot in her life. She's my mother's age and I've always looked at her that way but reading her book, I feel more like she's an older sister.
