Lori A book of how to study the Bible?

A punk that is beaten but not conquered?

Discuss the implications.

Phil | 11837 comments I can tell you that a catholic priest came into my home today to take confession for my MIL (did last rites, too, just in case).

I was afraid he might burst into flame crossing the threshold (hint: strong atheist here).

Lori Did one really, tho? With you one can never tell! If true, does this mean your mil is dying?

Oh my.

Phil | 11837 comments Yes, Lori, she is dying. Problem is we just don't know exactly when, so this was a precaution. She's confused most of the time, has stopped chemo and is now on hospice care. Everyone here seems to be fine, though my FIL shows some signs of depression. Perfectly natural, of course, as they've been married 63 years.

Lori Oh Phil. :( Your poor FIL. My god. That is so hard. So so sorry, words seem so foolish but it's all I have.

Phil | 11837 comments Thanks. Dad fought on the ground in Germany in WWII so he's been through some tough times. This will rival that, and he's no spring chicken himself. He will continue living here after she passes, so he'll have family to hang on to. It's tough, though, with him being of a generation of men who (for the most part) never knew how to talk about "feelings."
