I am interested in participating in a buddy read, and the bookI have in mind is one of Trollope's Irish novels. Castle Richmond is Trollope's tenth novel, set in the 1840s during the Potato Famine. Romance, blackmail, bigamy, nobility, poverty. The author was writing CR the year he moved from Ireland to England, 1859.The Victorian Web reference, "...included in lists of neglected masterpieces..." makes me want read it.

If you want to wait that long, I could be in, but you probably don't.

I'm fine with starting Castle Richmond in August, so will think about opening a thread then. Are there any other Trollope fans interested?

That sounds good. I'd like to join in too.

Three months ago I proposed doing a Buddy Read of the book, Castle Richmond by Anthony Trollope, and several of you expressed interest. I can now announce THE START DATE IS AUGUST 14. (not yelling, just waving hello).Below is a link to the description of the book that made me want to read it:

Everyman and Lucia,Glad to hear your copies of Castle Richmond are calling to you too. See you there!

In case Kidnapped won´t be chosen for a group read (together with Treasure Island) I´d be interested to read it here too! :)
I thought that we´d read Return of the Native in six weeks, as it consists of six books. When would you like to start? Monday 30 November or later? The idea came from a PM I got by Antía, but I didn´t find it again, and didn´t see her as a member here either.
Others that agreed to read it, are Rebecca, Brian, Iza, Daniel and Brenda. Everyone still in this? And anyone volunteering to lead the discussion? ;)
I probably won’t start until the week after next, but will read an audiobook which I can get through quicker.

I’d like to join in with this buddy read too.
Could one of the Mods please set up the threads for the buddy read of The Return of the Native? Please starting from next weekend till the Sunday a week afterwards with book 1, then one week for every book, so six weeks. Should end 17 January, 2021.
I´ll try to lead, though it will not be as good as those who are more used to it.
Thanks! :)

I've sent a PM to you. Could please check it and get back to me?

I agree with Trisha. It’s a Buddy read and the holiday season. You needn’t worry yourself Michaela! It will be a wonderful discussion, thanks for picking it out. 😊😊
