I have read to my two boys some of my old favorite childhood books such as: The Magic Pot by Patricia Coombs, The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf, The Giant Jam Sandwich by John Vernon Lord, Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books, The original Curious George stories and of course Dr. Suess!
I have bought for them but haven't read yet, Frog and Toad Are Friends by Arnold Lobel and Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle by Betty MacDonald.
And during the summer, Borders had a children's reading club and if you read 10 books, then you received a free book as a prize. Well, my 4-year old picked out Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes and wants me to read that one after we finish the book we're currently reading! I have to tell you though, I'm looking forward to reading that book about as much as ripping my fingernails out one-by-one!!! Maybe I'll be surprised and hopefully it'll be better than I think it will be?!?!?!

I am currently reading Mrs. Piggle Wiggle and even though it has been over 30 years since my Mom read it to me, I am recalling parts of it as I am laughing along with my boys; we are all really enjoying it! And I LOVED The Little House on the Prarie books, my older sister read the first 2 books to us, then I read the rest of the series, in fifth grade, I think!!!
Yes! Right now, I am re-reading the entire Nancy Drew series. I love getting back together with Nancy, George, Bess, Ned and the gang after so many years apart!

Kristi, the originals I presume! How fun! I have two young boys, so unfortunately there probably will never be a Nancy Drew book in my house again! It will be fun to see if they eventually get into The Hardy Boys series, though. I read a couple of them when I was young, but always preferred good ol' Nancy!!

Also, I loved to read the Nancy Drew books when I was younger and I have been wanting to revisit them for awhile now. People always thought it was weird that I liked it because I'm male, so they tried to get me to read The Hardy Boys, but I always thought that Nancy Drew was better and I still do.
