Laurin, that's China Glaze Crushed Candy, right? Have you seen it over a dark grey?My nails are a perfect soft white, and after my shower I'm going to mess around with some nail art. :)
This is the polish I have on right now, a matte red with a tiny bit of sparkle. Mine is a little darker because I applied it over a darker red basecoat.[image error]
Pretty, Amber!Laurin, I'll dig out a link--Michelle of All Lacquered Up made me regret passing CC on to a better home.
I did it! I managed nail stamping that doesn't look like ass!
Barb, pictures are on the camera, so hopefully tomorrow night if tomorrow isn't too horrible. As for the matte topcoat, Joe Fresh makes one that's only sold at Loblaws and Hard Candy makes one that's exclusive to Walmart or you can buy them online. And oh my dog, your candy cane nails are adorable!

That is actually a question I was going to ask our resident polish experts, as I can't put a protective topcoat over my matte polish without counteracting the effect.
Amber, the matte topcoats aren't as protective as regular topcoats. They chip just as much, sadly, but they look really adorable over glitter polishes.

However, it's still cool that they exist and can give you more polish options without buying a bunch of new colors just for the finish.

(not my fingers)
I did a grey polish with newsprint on them the other day and people definitely noticed them. It was a little hard to get them done though - it will require a little more practice.
janine, I bet it's beautiful!Gertie, look--wrapping paper nails! http://copythatcopycat.blogspot.com/2...
Don't get rapid dry Sally Hansen. I have the kind in the red bottle. Every time I paint my nails, it chips off within a few hours. Not like little chips on the ends, like all of the polish flakes off down to my bare nails.
Heidibear, a number of nail bloggers swear by Sally Hansen Mega Shine topcoat, which is available at drugstores and won't cost an arm and a leg.
I tried to give myself silver tips (with those nail polish guide thingies) but it was a horrible failure. I might give it another shot this weekend with a different polish.
Amber, a couple of days ago I saw someone who had metallic gold nails with gold glitter tips. I am not a huge gold fan but it looked cool, silver would be even cooler.
Those glittery ones are exotic . My nails usually get about naked these days. It's the only bit of me left that can get away with it.
Laurin wrote: "I need to remove the glitter, I'll have to try the foil method."What in the world is the foil method?
Basically put nail polish remover on cotton pads and wrap them in foil on your fingers. Something like that. Someone else mentioned it up-thread a bit.
Ah, thank you for clearing that up! I just put coat of clear polish under glitter and it comes right off.
I had chipped glitter on my nails for a week once because I just couldn't get it off although actually I had a friend who tried to assure me it was in style, but I was like, huh? really? Ugh!
