message 55: by Ashlee (new)

Ashlee (ashlee_) Re-read of course. A book is a gift you can open again and again, remember? I'm just now reading through this series for the first time, and I just started Deathly Hallows, I'm about 145 pages in and it's a bittersweet feeling to know that there will be no new adventures after this. But at the same time I can re-read the book, re-watch the movies, go visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios (woop for being a FL resident) and I can pass on the story for years to come with my children. My son is 1 and my daughter is 3, and in a year or so I plan on starting the series with them. There is also fan fiction and conventions and book talks, the series will never die! and who knows...maybe J.K Rowling will write some more! in an exclusive interview she did say "I'm not going to say I won't write more Harry Potter stories..." and she also said the characters were still swimming around in her head, who knows what will be next! :)

message 64: by Nina (new)

Nina it's going to feel so surreal when there are no more movies left to look forward to. ever since i was like 10 yrs old, i've been looking forward to the next harry potter film coming out. although, that was when i didn't mind waiting because i was reading through the series. i remember i was so sad when i finished the last book. so good but upsetting to realize that no more books were going to come.

harry potter won't ever really end. not really :) and i won't let it!

☆♪Taylor♪☆ (taybrookeg) | 151 comments me and my friend will probably write a fanfic series.

Emma | 5 comments Hi, well i first read harry potter when i was 6...and now i am 13 and still...um a harry potter nerd, i think it stays with you, and it honsetly can NEVER die for those who truly love it. Harry Potter...how can it end, i mean how did it ever get so famous, it mean something to those who love it. It is not a twilight, it is a classic. It is immortal, and yes it may be 'the end of a generation' but then it is the next's generations' turn!!!!

message 77: by Joe (new)

Joe | 57 comments I'll write to J.K asking her to write some side-stories, not for her benefit, but for her fans. She needs to know they want more.

OTHER THAN THAT:

I will,
sit around,
cry,
watch the movies,
read the books,
write my own stories,
pretend that fanfiction is from J.K Rowling,
do what I'm doing now ( doze off during the day imagining what would happen if a deatheater apparated into the room you're in and you had to duel him/her. LOL )

Most likely that last one. xD

message 79: by Aegine (new)

Aegine | 359 comments Haha lol! I'm sure you would totoally kick their butt! And I can't wait for Pottermore either!!!! 8D I think I might start a fanfic. I didn't really want to start one because emy writing's no where near as good as JKR's but I think it'd be really cool of someone could write a fanfic only it's like on of those Choose Your Own Adventures, if that's not too cheesy. But with Harry Potter, you can have so many adventures, starting with blood status: pure-blood, half-blood, or Muggle-born. From there, you can go into different houses and meet the characters from the books. You could possibly choose your own time period: Marauders, Harry's time, Harry's kids time.
Maybe this sounds too much like Pottermore though and it'd be really sweet if it was like this!

i love this. i will cry (alot) when the movie ends, but Harry Potter is still not over yet. Harry Potter is too powerful and awesome to be stopped by the end of one movie. It'll be alive through the fans :)

Not melodramatic at all! (aha i sounded like i was being sarcastic, but im not!)

There are no words for what Harry has been in my life. As alot of people said, it took me out of the real world and in to hogwarts. His troubles were my troubles. I grew up at nearly the same age as him, he was 11 when I was 9. It was like my alternate life.

Well over here in Autralia the movie has come out, and I had this plan where I wouldnt watch the last 5 minutes then i would watch them 5 minutes before I die so that I would never have to live a moment of my life without Harry Potter. As in I'd always have something to look forward. Now it just feels like the book has closed on a huge chapter of my life. My childhood really.
Sighhh im sad. I guess Im just gna watch 1000 interviews and keep it going. My biggest fear is 20 yrs time when Im working and so busy in my life that I will forget Harry P. Now i say I never will but what about in 20 yrs? Idk. And, every year before the next movie, they always show the HP movies in order on tv. Will they ever do that again? By rights they should but will they?

WAHHHH im getting depressed so Im gna stop now :( ILY HARRY POTTER! (Guys be happy. Id do anything to be in ur position right now and not hve watched the movie yet!!!) But its a ripper. its truly amazing so be ready :)

message 85: by Cerridwen (new)

Cerridwen (allantiabooks) I mean...I have practically grown up with the characters of Harry Potter. I am sad to see the movies draw to a close even...but I can always read the books over and watch the movies anytime so it isn't as bad as it might seem. :)

The movie was so good! XD I did watch the ending, unlike you, and it was pretty much the same as in the books so if you can imagine that, you're nearly spot on.

Also, I share your fear that20 years from now, I will be too busy to remember Harry Potter. But I would like to share the magic with my kids so there's that...

message 89: by PinkLotus (new)

PinkLotus | 6 comments Harry Potter isn't really ending. It'll always be with us, with the people who love it. I don't think I'll ever forget, because they wear an extrodinary series. THE BEST! And good things always stay with us, forever.

message 90: by Aegine (new)

Aegine | 359 comments Has anyone else heard of this book, The Diary of a Harry Potter Adict? I found it on Facebook and it sounds hilarious and has anyone heard of it/read it? All I can figure is that this is available to nooks/kindles/ereaders but I WANT A BOOK WITH REAL PAGES!!!! Please and thank you :)

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

I've published my own book and I'm writing a Harry Potter web comic. I was roleplaying, but the community got too volatile.

Farin | 6 comments Ends? Harry Potter will last forever in the hearts of the true fans.

message 94: by Amitykitty (new)

Amitykitty | 15 comments Harry Potter will never end for me. Sure it has been over for a year now, but it has not left me. There have been other great books that I have read, but they are all incomparable to that series. In fact, one of the greatest days of my life was going to the wizarding world of Harry potter. At the end of the eighth movie, during the 19 years later, I cried only partly because it was an emotional scene, but mostly because that part of my life was over. I will always love that world and feel like I am a part of it. Harry Potter will live as long as there are fans that treasure it. Long live the boy who lived.

*unregistered_animagus* | 19 comments Who was the stupid idiot that even thought about suggesting HP was going to end???? I will seriously commit suicide if that happens.

message 96: by Brianna (new)

Brianna | 45 comments It'll definitely never end for me. I am in the middle of a series reread right now, so that's the proof that I still love them, just as much as I did when the books were coming out. Maybe I even love them more now that the whole puzzle is complete. :).

message 97: by Brianna (new)

Brianna | 45 comments I try to do a reread at least once a year. Yeah, I know, I'm weird, but....I still love them like it's my first time reading them.

message 98: by [deleted user] (new)

Now that it is all ended it's pretty sad. I mean, I only discovered how good it was after all te books came out and when the 7th and 8th movies were coming out, so I missed the whole growing up with him which is horrible-I love those books so much!!!! I hope Harry Potter is a long-lasting legacy!!!

message 99: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca May | 376 comments Why do people keep saying Harry Potter will end? (or has now ended). Harry Potter will never end, will never be gone as long us fans who remain are loyal! :) I, for one, will never stop reading the books or watching the movies, and all the HP theme parks are on my bucket-list. Plus, we've got PotterMore...

It's odd, every time I watch the last film I do get nostalgic, and I did cry at the end of the last film because there will be no more visits to the theater to see the latest Harry Potter movie, but it will never be over for me.

Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home!
