Samantha | 867 comments I want to see The Adjustment Bureau with Matt Damon. It looks interesting!

message 102: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments I also want to see Red Riding Hood.

Michelle Gilmore Samantha wrote: "I also want to see Red Riding Hood."

Me too!! I can hardly wait for it to come out. I also want to see Sucker Punch.

message 104: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments Sucker Punch? Who is in that?

message 105: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore I saw that Leo DiCaprio is producing Red Riding Hood.

message 106: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore Samantha wrote: "Sucker Punch? Who is in that?"

Jena Malone, who I know from some of her fims, but can't recall which right now. Emily Browning, and Abbie Cornish who I'm not familiar with. It seems like a movie my 13 yr niece would be able to watch, but I tend to like alternate world movies too. Here's a link to the trailer:

message 107: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore Well, I just watched the trailer for Sucker Punch again, so I'm not really sure if its appropriate for teeny boppers or not. But I think so.

message 108: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments I don't know about that one, Michelle. Doesn't look like my kind of movie. Could be a teeny bopper movie but I'm not sure.

I saw a trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean 4. There was no Kiera in it. Or Orlando Bloom

I want to see Red Riding Hood too though I'm not fond of the lead actress.

I haven't seen any of the Pirates films exactly because she was in it. I don't really fancy Johnny Depp either though I do respect him as an actor (just not enough to pay to see his films).

message 110: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments Ouch! You're hard!

message 111: by Davina, The Modster (new)

Davina D. | 693 comments Mod
Lol ... I vote with my pocketbook, that's it. I don't really like her and I'll watch Johnny Depp's films as long as I don't have to pay for them.

I want to see Matt Damon's latest film, the one in which he co-stars with the lovely Emily Blunt. I can't recall the name The something Bureau. I'm a fan of both these actors, but I'm not sure yet how good their on-screen chemistry will be.

I also want to see an upcoming movie starring Vera Farmiga (one of my favourite latter day actress) and Jake Gyllenhaal. Once again I'm horrible at recalling the name of the film, but it should be good. I love Vera, don't mind Gyllenhaal although I wouldn't say I'm a fan. Like with the Matt Damon flick, however, I don't know how well Vera & Jake will be together on screen. Guess we're gonna have to wait and see.

message 113: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments I mention that Matt Damon film earlier. I believe its called The Adjustment Bureau.

message 114: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments I'm on the fence about this movie called Beastly. Its suppose to be some modern beauty and the beast tale but the actors are young and they really don't appeal to me.

Now that I've become a fan of Andy Whitfield, I plan to see The Clinic and everything else he has been in thus far.

Have never had any interest to see 30 Days of Night though I'm somewhat of a fan of Josh Hartnett, but now that I know Manu Bennett aka Crixus is in it, I'm tuning in ... as well as everything else of his I can get my hand on.

I want to see the new Jane Eyre movie, as well as Ironclad (I craving fresh new helpings of hardened, totally hot Roman gladiators! :) and Animal Kingdom.

message 117: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments I wonder why you are craving that! LOL

message 118: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments I think I want to see Take Me Home Tonight!

Spartacus withdrawal that's why! ;)
LOL!!!

message 121: by TinaNoir (new)

TinaNoir I am just put this out there....

I love a good romcom. I am cautiously looking forward to Jumping The Broom.

I think Paula Patton is underestimated. She is quite a deft comedienne and this is exactly the thing that showcases her. And I am in love with the casting: Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine, Tasha Smith and Laz Alonzo needs to be staring out of a screen at me all the time! LOL.

Seriously, this is my family. Parts of my family are the 'downtown' folks (that's my mother's branch). We've never lived in the projects, but we certainly don't own a vacation home in Martha's Vineyard. But there is another part of my family (the uptown branch, my father's people) who do.They have the cotillion balls, summer in Martha's Vineyard...the whole nine. I am always fascinated when Hollywood looks at this area of Af-Am life.

message 122: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments Tina, I want to see this movie as well. When I had first saw the preview at the theatre I was interested. I just hope they don't mess it up. I really like Paula Patton. She is starting to get more roles too. I can definitely see Angela in the uppity mom's role and Loretta in the down to earth mom's role. Tasha Smith is hilarious and I hope she shines in this.

Davina D. | 693 comments Mod
Oh this sounds like fun! I'm a fan of Paula as well. I think she has great potential, and you ladies know how much I love the lovely Ms. Loretta Devine. Sam, have I convinced you yet to see her in Lottery Ticket? You may surprise yourself yet and like it. Just saying ... ;)

message 124: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments I saw that a while back off of your recommendation :)

message 125: by Davina, The Modster (new)

Davina D. | 693 comments Mod
Whaaaat??? And you said nothing?!? What did you think? It's okay if you didn't like it! Jeez ... :)

message 126: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments I thought I did Davina! I like Loretta Devine. I actually liked the movie more than I had thought I would...I was still on the fence with that one. LOL.

message 127: by Michael (new)

Michael (mikedecshop) The Next Three Days. will watch it tonite.

message 128: by Davina, The Modster (new)

Davina D. | 693 comments Mod
I have that one lined up for the weekend. Shall be interesting to hear your thoughts on that film, Michael. Are you a Russell Crowe fan?

message 129: by Michael (new)

Michael (mikedecshop) I guess I am a Crowe fan. I went back and looked at his filmology and really couldn't find much that I didn't think he did a credible job. Maybe with the exception of Robin Hood but I didn't like the movie overall.

The Next Three Days was interesting though unbelievable.
An English Lit prof. at a community college can plan a jail break from an unescapable prison is a little much to swallow. However the planning and execution of that plan was kind of fun.

message 130: by Davina, The Modster (new)

Davina D. | 693 comments Mod
It's funny you should mention Robin Hood. I've tried so many times to watch that film and for the life of me I simply can not get beyond the first few minutes.

I'm not a Crowe fan myself, but I do respect him as a great technical actor.

message 131: by Michael (new)

Michael (mikedecshop) I'm just like you Davina. I have made at least 2 attempts to get thru it and have failed every time.
Hey, I've seen Costner's Robin and at least finished.

message 132: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments I agree with you guys. Robin Hood was not what I thought it would be. I was disappointed.

message 133: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments I want to see Limitless with Robert Di Nero and I forget the other guy's name. I also want to see Source Code. I'm not a big fan of Jake Gyllenhal but I still want to see it.

message 134: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments Oh, I just saw a trailer for Insidious and I definitely want to see it :)

message 135: by TinaNoir (new)

TinaNoir Well since I seem to be movie stalking Taraji P. Henson lately, I need to see her newest movie, Peep World. It looks like a sophisticated comedy that looks at a dysfunctional family. Nice cast. Funny trailer.

message 136: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments I have to check out the trailer for that one, Tina.

message 137: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore I don't know if its been mentioned yet, but I'd really like to see Water for Elephants. My plan is to read the book first, then head to the theater before the end of the month.

message 138: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments Michelle, I have this on audio. I plan to listen to this before I go see it.

I read here on goodreads that the narrator(s) for the audio version do a really good job.

Anybody planning to see the new Jane Eyre film? I want to see it. I read the book so long ago though that I can barely remember the details of the story. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to reread it. Having just kicked my reader's block I have waaay too much catching up to do in the reading department!

I'd like to, but I want to read the book first. I've recently dealt with my own reading block, so like you I have some catching up to do.

I want to see it but I definitely can't try to read it again. That would set me back with my reading at this point.

message 143: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments I want to see Something Borrowed with Kate Hudson. It looks funny.

message 144: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore Samantha wrote: "I want to see Something Borrowed with Kate Hudson. It looks funny."

I'd like to see that movie too. Of course I have the book, and want to read the book first. So it'll probably be on DVD before I watch it.

message 145: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments I don't have time to read this one so I'll just try to get to the movies to see it.

message 146: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore I want/ need to see Erich Maria Remarque’s All Quiet on the Western Front. I'm taking a class, and this film was mentioned by my professor. Has anyone seen this film?

message 147: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments Sorry Michelle. I haven't heard of this film. I'll look it up.

message 148: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments So when we went out to the movies last night, I saw the preview for The Help and I have to admit that I didn't care for some of the actors they picked for the film. It didn't come across as good as I had hoped. I'm still going to see the movie and I hope they do a good job.

message 149: by Davina, The Modster (new)

Oh no! I hope this is one thing we won't agree on as this is one of the most anticipated films for 2011 for me.

message 150: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 867 comments I know!!! I hope its great and the trailer was just crappy.
