Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments Oh wow! A few of these have been on my wishlist, just last week I was looking at The Rose of Winslow Street by Elizabeth Camden but didn't buy it because I refuse to pay over 10.00 for an ebook. Glad I waited!

:sheepishly:I have a confession to make. I get all the books posted here. I just archive them and download those that interest me. You never know which ones are hidden gems. I can always delete them later if they turn out to be junk.

That is a great idea, Gisela. There have been a couple I didn't get and I want to kick myself for not doing so. My computer is getting sluggish from data overload. Eep! I just bought a couple of flash (thumb) drives, so maybe I'll transfer the books there.

message 310: by Robin (Saturndoo) (new)

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) I just got my kindle for Christmas and I have 3876 on it....I don't have any books on my computer. I have calibre on my computer but have no clue how to use it lol

message 311: by Robin (Saturndoo) (new)

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) You all are very very welcome : ) glad to have shared with you!!!

Lina | 5563 comments http://blog.calibre-ebook.com/ and Dear Author are a greeat source for finding out how to get the best out of calibre. It's an awesome tool if you know how to use it right - btw, you might want to have a look at the Goodreads plugin for it!

message 313: by Robin (Saturndoo) (new)

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) @ CaroB Thanks for the links. I will definitely look in to them when time permits me too lol

@ Jyl LOL You are a step ahead of me...I haven't even learned how to convert files yet : ( I downloaded it and got overwhelmed with it and said "One of these days"

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments CaroB wrote: "...have a look at the Goodreads plugin for it!"

There's a GRs plugin for it!?! Neat. I had it on my computer, but my computer is getting too full, so I removed it. It takes up a lot of space. Thinking about putting it on a flash (thumb) drive.

message 315: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments The GR plugin can sync up your shelves and Read dates, which is nifty, plus it uses GR for the metadata and book blurb info etc. I'm sure there's more that it can do but that's what I mainly use it for. Means I only have to put that stuff in once and then sync up.

Not sure how the new USB drive calibre works yet, but I was excited when I saw that post!

Rachel the Book Harlot Thank you, Jyl!

On a side note, I see that Bev Petterson's Jockeys and Jewels is free right now. One of my GR friends read her other book Thoroughbreds and Trailer Trash by Bev Pettersen and really liked it. She gave it 4.5 stars.

Oh yes, snap those suckers up right away! I cannot tell you how may great reads I've lost out on. I was so bummed when I missed some Patricia Ryan medievals freebies.

I've never read any of her, Rachel. Any suggestions of where to start?

Rachel the Book Harlot Lisa, I recommend you start with Silken Threads (Wexford Family, #1) by Patricia Ryan and The Sun and the Moon (Wexford Family, #2) by Patricia Ryan. :)
