I have a question , what is a Christian fiction exactly? Does it encourage Christianity in it? or it simply means there are no sex scenes? what about the Amish books?

Usually Christian fiction is heavy on the Christian faith and belief. Some are heavier handed than the others. Most are "one foot on the floor" - however, that isn't always the case. (There was a lot of rape, etc. in the Bible.) I don't know about the Amish books. I got my first one the other day and haven't had time to read it.

I have quite a few but haven't read any yet. I just liked the sound of the stories hoping they're not to preachy. My schools were faith schools so I'm kind of used to it though.

I read a lot of Christian Fiction and usually there's a "moral" to them, for lack of a better term. They are faith based and like LK said, some are heavier handed/more preachy than others but all are based on Christian beliefs. Most of them deal with everyday trials and tribulations that we all face in every day life like rape,sex, abuse, troubled marriages,getting married,drugs but all the problems are solved/handled/dealt with based on Christian faith. The Amish books are based on their beliefs and their "plain" lifestyle and they face the same issues marriage, teen problems, drugs, abuse, those who are ex-communicated, those wanting to join etc.

Am I right in thinking there's also no sex scenes? The focus of the romance is actually on the romance.

No sex scenes, CaroB....at least not in the ones I've read.

Yes, CaroB, that is what I meant by "one foot on the floor." However, don't count on all of them being that way. I haven't read it, so I can't say for sure, but I believe Redeeming Love, by Francine Rivers has sex in it.
