Hi, I thought I would start this group to get in touch with other booklovers in the area who are here on goodreads.

FYI--- some of us meet in person once a month for a book club discussion. New folks are always welcome...just RSVP to one of our events!

Feel free to introduce yourself!

************
P.S. Authors--- you are free to join our conversations but if you are here simply to promote your book please do so in our dedicated discussion area: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...

Any posts made in this Welcome thread that are ads for your book will be deleted.

Victoria Sandbrook (vsandbrook) Hi everyone! I'm new to MA--new enough that I'm still not sure about whether Brockton is considered "South Shore," but this group is the closest to where I am, so I thought I'd join and connect with some local book lovers. I'm an editorial assistant at a publisher in Boston, run an online book group that's just starting up, and am working on revising my first novel. Happy reading, everyone!

Welcome to the new folks. Some of us do meet live about once a month. Others just chat/post online here.

All are welcome to come to our next meeting in December. We've been meeting for a few months now and are still pretty small but as Joanie said, the more the merrier!

message 24: by Kim (new)

Kim | 1 comments i love this website good reads. I did not realize how much I read since I've joined. I keep track of both my books and the books that my son reads in school. He loves telling me of all the books he likes reading, so I post the comments on good reads.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi, I live in Quincy. I've never been part of a book group so I'm not sure how discussions work. I've put the next book for discussion on hold at the library so when it comes in I'll read it and maybe I'll get up the nerves to come to the September meet!

Otherwise, I lurk. I'm quiet but I'm always on the lookout for a Good Read!

message 26: by Karis (new)

Karis North Hi, I'm Karis, an avid reader, and just joining this group. Looking forward to sharing my love of books with you all!

Angela (bellaluna99) Hello all. I live in Abington and was looking for a local book club. Loved the book you are reading now (Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie). Do you have live meetings or strictly online discussion?

Sandra Morse | 3 comments Angela wrote: "Hello all. I live in Abington and was looking for a local book club. Loved the book you are reading now (Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie). Do you have live meetings or strictly online discuss..."

We have live meetings every month at the Borders in Braintree (Union Street). Our next meeting is this Sunday 06/27 at 1PM. We try to meet in the cafe, but if there are no available tables you will find us in one of the small seating areas. Just look for someone with the book "Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie". Hope to see you there.
