This continues to hold its place as my favorite Stephen King novel and indeed one of my favorite novels of all time. I think what attracts me so much to this novel is the persistent feelings of solitude and isolation which for me really elevated the horror.
I also think Edgar Freemantle is a great protagonist, I really enjoyed reading through his recovery from the accident and his evolution into the painter.
