Where do you call home?
We hello everyone, I live in one of largest countries in the world (land mass) with the least amount of people. Yes, I am Canuck. Sorry don't live in an igloo or drive a dog sled (just kidding, believe me though, people ask that). I will say that yes, we say eh? a lot, and most of us are hockey obsessed, my husband included! We live just outside Toronto in a tiny little town in a very old house (175yrs+). For those of you from Europe, I know not that old:) Anyway, I love my town, love the Canadian landscape and would never live anywhere else. Although there are absolutely amazing places I want to see or have seen, but as I get older I realize Canada is my home..
Hey, Julie, you must work at one of my favorite libraries! My daughter lived in Cheyenne for several years, and I always made sure I got to take the kids to the library while I was there. You're right! I never saw a shoot-out while I was there! And I've been known to crack open a bottle of Yellow Tail or two, too, but I do live in the middle of the Snake River (Idaho) wine country, so....
And yes, we do have amazing potatoes, so some stereotypes are true!
I'm a born and raised Californian. I recently moved from Los Angeles to the San Francisco area and am considering joining (or starting) a Jane Austen group. There was a fab club in LA, and there's nothing like chatting about Austen over a high tea.
I am a midwesterner as well. Marion, Ohio in the middle of the state and a small town. PBS and BBC-A helps me support my UK habits. lol
I've lived in Alberta, Ontario, and Massachusetts, and I love all of them, but I keep coming home to Halifax, Nova Scotia, the beautiful city where I grew up.
from Batna, Algeria! BBC's programs are great and the novel adaptations are heavenly :) it is good to be among you
It is great we have so many people from so many places!!!!
I am jealous! I love going on holiday there! And to the Yorkshire dales!! Beautiful... I want to live there when I am older. South England, Berkshire :)
Any one living in England is very lucky! ;) Would love to go there someday! So much history attached to it!

Jane Austen's Bath as well as her house at Chawton. Um... Do you mean not JA related?Visit the Peak District, or Lake District or Yorkshire Dales if you love beautiful landscape.
I spent a half day at Winchester Cathedral, where she is buried, and it was a very moving experience. I met a fellow disciple -from Australia- over her grave and have always wished we'd exchanged addresses. I picked up some beautiful water-color illustrations of Miss Austen's novels, which I framed when I got home. Wonderful memories!
I went to Winchester last May. It was very moving to visit the Cathedral and I loved the town. So lovely! I wish I could go there again.
It is beautiful there, you are right. I love visiting any national trust or English heritage places :)
Another lovely place, no JA relation, is Highgate cemetery.O and the Jack the Ripper tour in London rocks.
Anne wrote: "Wow! Thank you all! :) England is on my bucket list!"Just make sure you allow yourself lots of time! I'd like to go again and hit all the places I missed... Maybe 3 months would be enough?

Hahaha yeah definitely! ;)
I live in beautiful Scotland, but I frequently travel over the border to my lovely neighbours England and Wales..
Recommend? York is a must, the history attached to it is amazing, and there's a ton of local historical sites around there because it's been a city since...well, actually I'm not sure. It's definately at least 2000 years old, because the Romans took it over when they invaded England. There's stuff all over the country though, and I don't think there's anywhere which isn't within an hours drive of a castle or some other important history site. Chatsworth House is key if you're a P&P fan though, because it was used as the basis for Pemberley(I think...I read this a while ago!). I was born near there, and so i'm a bit biased in its favour - my Grandma and Grandad took me there a lot as a kid :) England is a gorgeous place, but, as Amanda says above, so are the rest of the Isles!
I reside right outside of Houston, Texas! I'm a huge fan of BBC shows, though, and watch them whenever I get the chance lol.

The BBC is brilliant, but then again it should be - it costs us all enough!! lol Actually, talking of TV, there is a new drama on itv (another main British channel) starting soon that you'll probably be interested in, because it is a dramatisation of P. D. James' 'Death Comes to Pemberley'. Not sure when it starts, but it's definitely part of the autumn programming. God knows when it'll be shown/available in America though, I don't know what the lag is. If it's anything like most USA shows here, then probably 6 months minimum :( lol

I live in Richmond, California, on the east side of the San Francisco Bay looking toward the Golden Gate Bridge.

I can attest to the fact that not everyone in California surfs. ;)
