My 5th grade teacher did acupuncture on the people in our class who raised their hands to try it. I tried it. Didn't feel anything except a teensy pleasant warm sensation where the needle was.

I know that addiction centers and methadone clinics often have community acupuncture programs, which mostly have a whole bunch of people in one room and do points on earlobes and hands. It's much cheaper, but it's effective for those particular issues (and some others as well).
