Cody (rolinor) | 22 comments Here a general pronunciation guide

"Japanese is best spoken with no accent at all and in near monotone. Vowels are aways pronounced separately, even if two or more appear together. For example, aoi is pronounced ah-oh-ee; Osafune: ohh-sah-foo-neh: Masamune: mah-sah-moo-neh; Ecthu: Et-choo. Long values should be carefully given their full value. for example Omi: oh-oh-me. There are five vowels in the Japanese language, pronounced as follows:

a as in father
i unique
u rude (but without rounding the lips)
e met, bed
o note

There are nineteen consonants in the Japanese language:
k, s, sh, t, ch, ts, n, h, f, m, y, r, d, b, p, g (like ng in sing), z (like ds in loads), j (like dg in judge)"

Cody (rolinor) | 22 comments I have a suggestion for the group, we should have an intro thread where we can tell about ourselves what we know in Japanese ect that way when people ask questions we know who to direct them to and so we all know a little about each other.
