I finished my goal of 100 books and increased it to 125. I still can't believe I managed it.

i'm at 300 of 366...i've been upping my goal 1 book, if i read a book that is less than 120 pages (because they only take like an hour or so to read)

I am about 20 books ahead of my schedule (%12) 115/150 books, I increased my inital 100 books goal to 125 books and then 150 books a few weeks ago, GR really helped me to read at least 50% more books than last year I am very happy about it :)

Everybody's doing better than me. I'm around 11 books ahead and my time to read in RL is rapidly declining :(

I'm only right on schedule this week. I normally stay at least 2% ahead, but haven't been too keen on the books i have picked up lately. In fact, i haven't picked up a book all weekend.LOL

I think you surprise yourself at how many books you really read. I definitely read in fits and starts. I'm on a 'fit' at the moment - assuming that means I'm not reading a lot ;)

I got a really late start. I didn't get back into reading until about April of this year. I got on Goodreads a week or two ago, I think. Next year I'll put a much bigger goal!

I've been about 2-3% ahead of schedule for the last several weeks. If I can keep up the pace, I should have no trouble at all reaching my goal, and will probably exceed it.:-)

Well, first I had a challenge to read 100 books...managed that:) Then to read 125..did that too..Now I have to read 160 books, and I read 153 so far. I like taking baby steps..so I guess when I reach the number of 160, I will go to 180. I think I will manage this.

Seriously? You guys all read over a 100 books every year? I wish I had the time. My goal is 50 books this year. So far I have read 33. But in my defence, most of the books I read are 700+ pages... Oh, and I often read English books so that makes it a bit more difficult for me as well (I am a native Dutch speaker, you see). Anyway, I hope you all meet your goals. Good luck everyone!

Well Anya, as for my self..I can't say I have that much time, but you know..it's more of the time-management thing that plays a role here..:) And I myself am not a native english speaker and read most of the books in English, which is not difficult but it takes more time, I agree. I hardly watch TV, and I read every minute that I have available, on breaks at work, before going to sleep..and so, I managed to reach my goal of 160 books, and now I got a new one..to read 170 books. Decided I should take baby steps, 'cause I have a busy schedule ahead of me (at work). Good luck to everyone:)

I agree that the longer books take longer. I read 176 last year, I'm at 291/300 for this year. I may end up increasing that one too since I should be done that in the next week or so.

300 books? sheesh! i'm going for 250. a Goodreads friend pushed me to do it. i can't believe my first goal was 75 books, and now it's 250.

My status is pretty much "epic fail". At this rate I think I'm 47% behind! I'll be lucky to read the same amount that I did last year.

I think I read 59 last year so I shot for 100 and I'm only at 26. Major bummer. I started out strong!

I've nearly reached my goal - 4 books to go I think... But there are quite a few shorties in there since I'm trying to rate most of the books I read. Might have to up it another 20 or so - or simply be an over-achiever!! LOL...

I read around 25 manga books recently and I realized that I had almost reached my goal. Then I decided that to 3 manga books is equivalent to 1 physical book. I'm torn whether to increase the quota or to be a over-acheiver. I can stop looking at the progress bar everyday..

Vi - I mean that because I am rating the shorter books they are now turning up on my 'books read' list and are being counted toward my total. I didn't rate the shorties that I read last year so they aren't in my stats... :)

Oh indeed, such a chore to go through the read shelf to find the short story and to find myself re-reading 1 book + skimming 2 other book. Yep, such a chore :P

I wanted to ask whether is it counted as you read 2 books if you read the same book twice? Or is it still one book? I did a bit of testing and it appears to be only once, but i'm not 100% sure. I may have done sth wrong, seeing as I deleted my review by accident:( and i don't have a backup:(:(:(

if you re-read a book, you can have it count twice by adding a second edition of the book - like a paperback, and then add the hardcover edition

Now my challenge is to read 200 books this year, I already read 193 so I guess I will have to make a new challenge soon..Maybe to 220 books??

I would look at the number of books you read in a month and average that out to decide on your next goal ;)

Well I know I read 27 books in September, I read 10 books so far this month, and I read a lot during the summer. Approximately 15 books per month, let's say (though I am not very sure on this).But I like small steps..just to know that I have the chances of achieving the goal:)

I see I see. Thanks! I'm wayyy behind because of exams, but after exams I promised myself to read a minimum of 2 books a day and I should make it! :)

My goal was 450 and I just made it with 452. This year I've scaled back to 400 cause it was a bit stressful there at the end.

Wow!!! I thought I was doing good at 115 for the year. I don't know how I would ever be able to read 450 in a year!!
