The majority of my reads were full length books but I don't see a need to discriminate between lengths of books, you were still reading. Most Mills & Boon type books (Blaze/Temptation etc) were/still are around the 189/215 page length, so are some of my novellas.
By the way just about to start book #40 for this month.
Good luck to everyone and their goals.

Go to your Profile Page, under the list of shelves, you'll see cloud/stats/more - click on stats and it will take you to your book count for your entire life and you can switch between books & pages. Very interesting stuff for us stats nerds!!
All the stats are based on the read dates of your books, so if you haven't put them in, they don't count.
ETA: I forgot to say that the read count doesn't include re-reads unless you put them in as the new date.

And answering the question about our lives. . . I have a life--its called READING. (giggling) I was reading a short story once, I think it was one of the Chicks in Chainmail series, and they had a geeky kid with running around with a badge that said "I have a life--its (name of the tv show that main character starred in, but was a play on Xena, Warrior Princess)" I've loved that badge, and have seriously thought about having one made for myself, only have it say the bit about reading--or maybe books--or maybe even Goodreads. :oP
But on a more serious note--I spend a couple hours a day at a nursing home sitting with my Mum, and since she's been sleeping a lot, I sit and read so that when she IS awake, I'm still there and we can talk a bit. She had been really medicated up, trying to get her over some major health problems, but the dr had now started weaning her off some of the meds, so I'm hoping she'll be awake and aware more.
Plus, I have some other health issues, which means that there are days when, except for dragging myself over to see my Mum (usually forcing my hubby to drive me) I do nothing BUT read, because I don't have the energy or ability to do more than that. I live with constant pain, and, well, winters are really BAD for me, because of the pain. So I tend to read a whole lot in bad weather.
Plus, my only child is grown and has kids of her own, my hubby has just retired (Aug. 1, was when he retired) and I don't work. And I'm not a real big fan of 95% of the programs on TV. I DO quilt, crochet, knit and tat, so those take some of my time too. But some of them (the non-quilting ones) I can read while I do.

That's basically what I do... the only problem being it means your stats for previous years will change. For eg. since I re-read most of Amanda Quicks' books every year, my 2010, 2009 stats change when I change the date. Which is a bit of a bummer cos I like to compare how I do reading wise year to year. >end waffle< ;)

:)

@ You're welcome Allison

Good Luck Everyone!

Thanks Sheila. I hope so. The challenges here are bound to make it easier.

Update April 17, 2011: I increased my target to 200, and the widget thingie says I'm 17 books behind. :( I think I'm doing pretty good @ 43 books so far.

My favorite way to "read" a book is to have the audiobook on my iPod and to also have the Large Print Book (I have low vision). I find I can actually read a lot faster than the narration, but when my eyes get fatigued it is great to be able to listen. I think 200 books is very doable. I've already read something like 40 books. Getting involved in some of the challenges here really helps. You can easily read 10 a month by doing just the monthly challenges.

For myself I read on an Ereader. The lack of page numbers actually drives me to read more. It instead gives you percentage read. Also lately I have been finding some really interesting books that I just cant put down. So, 200 should be a breeze.

I read a lot this past week because my daughter was at my mother's house. It's only 5m away but there was no school this week. So she spent the week with her Opa instead of being home alone all day (she's 13). It freed up a lot of evening time for me and I read a lot.
