Zi (thebookishgamer) | 24 comments It's awesome, but I'm a little sad about finishing it, because then I'll have to wait for the paperback version to come out! I have a thing about series; if I buy or receive one book in the series, then the other books have to be matching. It bugs me otherwise, though I do have some series with both paper and hardback copies (like Rebel Angels, it was 5 bucks so I couldn't resist even though it was hardback and I had the first book in paperback).

Louise Reading the Keeper by Natasha Mostert - not enjoying it! I thought it was going to be a proper fantasy, but all 'chi' and bloomin' fighting. Really disappointed.

I just finished "Sanctus" and am starting on "Night Navigators" and "In The Sea There Are Aligators", which won't take me long, then I'm on to "When She Woke".

message 1394: by Judith (new)

Judith Starkston | 31 comments I just finished Kelli Stanley's City of Secrets set in San Francisco in 1940. Her previous book in the series City of Dragons won the Macavity Award for Best Historical Mystery in 2010, so, as you can imagine, she writes a compelling story. Gritty characters that you like even when they aren't always behaving well, so to speak! And she completely puts you in SF in that intriguing period. My review.

message 1395: by Michelle (new)
