Chrizette | 906 comments I am taking part in a book tour for THE HAUNTED by Jeff Bryan that will start later this month. Bryan has given me permission to share the eBook with my reviewer friends. If anyone is interested in reading (and also reviewing if you like), I will be happy to share the eBook with you.

The Haunted E-book is the story of a librarian who reads a horror ebook called The Haunted E-book. It's from a manuscript originally written by a 19th century tramp printer, whose ghost is awoken whenever someone reads his book. The malevolent ghost haunts his readers and threatens them with death if they stop reading, because he feeds psychically on the minds of his readers.

Lauren Smith That sounds interesting, I'll give it a shot, and review it on my blog as well. I'll PM you with my email address. Thanks Chriz :)

Chrizette | 906 comments I am sending the book to you now, Lauren. Thank you :)

Lauren Smith I'm currently reading this. It seems a little bit like a novel-length Kindle advert.

Chrizette | 906 comments LoL - I haven't read it yet. Is it a good advert or a bad one? :)

Lauren Smith Pretty bad so far. Have just hit obligatory horror story sex scene. At least the characters don't look like porn stars.

My main problem is that almost half of the book so far is the text of the horror story the librarian is reading. She says it's bad and badly written, and it is, so why make us read so much of it? Perhaps this book is geared towards fans of trashy horror novels?

message 7: by Chrizette (new)

Chrizette | 906 comments Oh no, that sounds terrible! And why would the librarian keep reading when it is so bad?

message 8: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Partly because it's a supernatural book, and it won't allow her to open up any other book on her Kindle. Don't know why she doesn't just take out a bloody library book.

Then she thinks that maybe if she finishes it it will stop haunting her. And now she says that for some reason she's "hungry for more".

Lauren Smith I'm sorry but I'm abandoning this. I don't normally give up on books, but there's a difference between sticking with a book that could possibly reward your efforts, and knowingly wasting your time on something that's been totally shit from the start.

Chrizette | 906 comments I agree - I used to always stick with books that I didn't enjoy but these days I have come to the point where I don't force myself to go on when it just bores me.
