It was pure heaven. Sarah had always been a runner and a killer. Even though it was not safe to be here alone, she could not help herself. all of a sudden, she heard a sound. Her ears were perked up in a second.
Wraith snarled and leaped on Sarah, rolling her onto her back. "Who are you?" she snapped. "What are you doing in my territory?"
Wraith lowered her fangs to Sarah's throat. "Leave now, or I'll snap your worthless neck," she snarled.
(i'll just be her character briefly, i'm sure she'll be pleased, lol)
Sarah squirmed out from under Wraith's paws and scampered away. Wraith turned to her packmates. "If you scent her on our territory again, kill her," she growled. "Now. We're looking for a thicket for Lark, Spirit, and Phantom during our upcoming hunt. Let's split up along the edges of this plain." She directed the wolves with a flick of her tail.

Wraith trotted off in the other direction, amber eyes scrutinizing the undergrowth. "Howl if you find a good spot!" she called.
Frostfur scanned the plain with her golden eyes, searching for caribou. She saw movement out of the corner of her eye and swiveled around. She caught a glimpse of a dark, bushy tail disappearing behind a think patch of grass. "Wraith," she called, "We've got company!"
((and how exactly do I make my enterance?? This is gonna sound corny stupid and pathetic))Shadow Runner comes up behind Wraith.
"That would be me."
He swiftly moved in front of her.
Wraith growled deep in her throat and raised her muzzle, indicating that Shadow Runner should act submissive. "Where have you been all this time, beta?" she asked sternly.
(ohhh, ok, shadow runner is not gonna do that though XD)He stays where he is not moving, just staring intently into Wraith's eyes.
Shadow Runner growled, "I will not submit, I was searching for the best place to ambush the caribou."
Wraith bared her teeth, amber eyes blazing. "All betas submit to the alpha. Are you challenging my authority?" she snarled.
He replied calmly, yet dangerously, "No, Wraith, I am not challenging your authority, nor will I ever, but I will not submit to anyone when I know I was only assissting the pack."
Frostfur watched this exchange with wide eyes, when she suddenly spotted a dust cloud nearing the trio. "Look! Caribou!" she cried.
"Do not pursue it," Wraith warned Frostfur. She kept her gaze riveted on Shadow Runner. "What you were doing does not matter," Wraith informed the beta coldly. "Whenever the alpha approaches, all betas and omegas must lower themselves before her. If you do not, there will be dire consequences." Wraith's ears swiveled back and her red tongue lolled between glistening fangs --her final warning. "Respect your leader!" Wraith barked commandingly.
"Stay back!" Wraith snapped. "We hunt as a pack. I must take care of this impudent male before we begin."
"Fine," Wraith spat. "Take two others with you. Bring it down if you can, but if the prey starts kicking, stay away. We can't afford injuries right now."
"I'll come." Spirit said. She'd turned to wraith lowering herself in submission. "May I go with her?"
Impatient, Wraith seized Shadow Runner by the throat. She lifted him into the air until all four of his paws were flailing in the air. Then she flung him to the cold ground and towered over him. "You have been marked as the lowest wolf in the pack," Wraith growled, referring to the puncture marks on his neck. "Never again will you climb the ranks in my pack." Turning contemptuously from the humiliated wolf, she addressed Spirit and Bonnie. "I will join you in the hunt. We will corner the prey as you suggested, Bonnie, instead of leaping from the undergrowth."
"Wait," Wraith commanded. She beckoned Frostfur over with her plumy tail. "Frostfur and Bonnie will steer that caribou over there." Wraith pointed with her ears. "I will come over those rocks directly ahead of it when it is close, and Spirit will approach from the side. When we appear, begin trying to bring it down." Wraith loped over to the pile of rocks.
"He shall always be the lowest pack member, so long as he remains in my pack," Wraith growled contemptuously.
Ashfire wrote: "Eclipse walked over to Shadow Runner. Showing submission to Wraith first. "You alright..?"""Yeah, fine," he replied darkly, walking away.
((I know,'they get to be bossy and arrogant and obnoxious and snarl at other wolves, whereas othher wolves have to obey the alphas every command or face banishment, or possibly death, I know what alphas are))
