Let's get acquainted

For anyone not already acquainted with me, I'm Davina. I live in the Heights, in Brooklyn, New York. Just turned 45, married and mother of two great boys. I work in consulting, but also have a very strong interest in films and the art of making films. I'd say I'm an experimental filmmaker. I've produced a few short films, but due to other commitments (work and being a mom) I haven't had much time to really do much with them.

Brenda here, 36, Mississippi, and too many kids to mention, lol. I'm not a big film or movie person, but I have a few favorite tv shows and movies. I recently picked back up reading after about 18 years. I've seen some movies that I would like to go ahead and read the book now. I am a firm believer that the book is ALWAYS better than the movie, except with a few rare cases. When I was a teen, I was in love with Stephen King's novels. In those years, several of his books were made into movies and I couldn't believe how they degraded the storyline. His books were ALWAYS better than the movies. I haven't read one of his books since then, since I seem to have took on a like for romance/erotic books.

I'm Samantha. I live in Brooklyn, NY. I can't say that I'm an expert on films but I do enjoy watching them. I haven't seen a movie in a long time that emotionally moved me. I would love to get rec's and learn about different films.

I'm not an expert either. I prefer the book to the movie - usually. I have two sons and a husband who love action movies and I love to be with them so I see more of those than I would choose to see on my own.

I'm a movie nut. :-D I love everything from Sci-Fi to Romance to action, futuristic and old classics. One of my dreams has always been filmmaking but I've only done animation so far. I'm hoping one day it'll be on a larger scale. :-D

Thanks for the invite. I was has a film theory specialization in college and have been a film buff ever since then. I love classic movies especially musicals and film noir. But I also have a bit of the 12 year old fanboy in me. So Sci-Fi and Quentin Tarantino are also favorites. Looking forward to chatting.

My name is Michelle. I've recently moved from Nashville, TN back to New York State. I'm living in the Bronx, but am originally from Upstate NY. My only experience with films/ movies is watching them, and then shooting my mouth off about what I liked/ didn't like afterwards. I like all genre's but really like psychological thrillers, horror, and the tragic romance movies the best. I'll watch just about anything, but won't watch movies where the dog/ cat suffers some awful death. =)

Greetings from Fremont, CA.

I'm mostly a sci-fi/fantasy fan, especially in books. But, in the case of films, my tastes are a bit more broader. Family, action/adventure, historical, some comedy... I just enjoy a good story, and I tend to ignore critics who seem to enjoy picking at the smallest imperfection in an otherwise great movie and tearing it up for it.
