Oh, yeah, fun. I'd love a thunder and lightining storm to write during. Using candels to light my room.

XD
I write on my computer, or on the laptop. I have an external harddrive now, because I'd die if I lost any of my files. And I can transport between the computer and laptop easier.I like to write on the couch, usually. Generally waaaaayyy late at night, when everyone else is asleep, or just when nobody else is home. I can't write chapters by hand, just because usually, my writing is really long. :/

I write anywhere I can. Mostly in my room. I write on loose-leaf paper which I keep all the pages in a folder, or in a journal that's like 500 pages.
Maria [the clockwork creeps on useless lives] wrote: "I'm confused as to what inanimate object I would be."Same. I'm 100% Pakistani..well, I guess once upon a time I was technically Indian.
I write anytime inspiration strikes! I carry a notebook with poems and such in it and I'm adding stuff if I get inspiration, or when I just feel like it, but the place I write the most is probably on my couch.
Most of my writing, especially when it comes to poetry, are done with Microsoft Word. However, I do like to jot down excerpts in a spare notebook every now and then, whenever I get enough inspiration. (Also, the presence of a thesaurus is really helpful for me.)
I write on a note book, then i correct everything with my red pen. After i finish correcting it i type it up on Word pad. Because i don't have Microsoft. After finish typing it on Wordpad i print it and redit it with my english teacher and Mom. After i send copies to my family and friends they read it and review it.
My wonderful mother bought me a Moleskine <3 <3 <3 And that's where I write poetry and song lyrics, but I generally just use my laptop or I write on my hand. In gym class. Strangely, that's where I get most of my inspiration.
i have writen alot in all different places, in the office:computer, laptop, paper
my room: laptop, paper
car:Laptop, paper
School:Computer(lab), paper
living room: Laptop, paper
i don't have a printer so if i want to print it i have to do that during study hall, i have it in the library , which has computers in it, so i can write my story during study hall and then towards the end print it off.
I write in bed, after my husband's gone to bed... it's so peaceful, with a cup of coffee on the nighttable and no distractions except my small dog.
has anyone here, been trying to fall asleep, but you couldn't so you thought about your story, and in your head you come up with the best scene like ever, but in the morning you can't really remember it. or even once you go to get paper to write it down.

Yup. I don't know about forgetting whole scenes, but I sometimes forget little things. Like I'll be falling asleep and think something like, "Aw man I just thought of the perfect name for that character! Ah, I'll probably remember it in the morning..." And then ... I don't. Bummer.

Yeah. Me too. I force myself to get up and write it on a random sheet of paper.
I would do that but, with my luck I would lose the piece of paper. lol. But your right i should start doing that. lol. :)

I've also had dreams where I remember when I wake up that something really cool happened that would make a great story, but I can't quite remember what it was anymore.
To answer your question of where I write, I write wherever I can. I mostly write at home, but if I'm at school, or out, and I have a pad of paper with me, I will start writing when I'm inspired.I know this will be strange, but have you ever wrote part of your story, went to bed, and dreampt of what you wrote? That has happened to me before when I write my story.

Usually my problem is that I'll be in a dream and I'll be like "This would be such a great story!" And then I wake up and realize that my dream logic was terrible and that actually the idea was really stupid. Like, one time I had this dream where I thought it would be a brilliant idea to write a book about zebras ... Errm.

Is it weird that I usually write either in a tree or on my roof?? O_OIf I can't get to either of those spots, I'm usually in a dimly lit corner of my room with a pumpkin spice or evergreen candle lit and a bowl full of M&Ms next to me :)
PUNNY LAVENDAR.I have a new composition notebook for NaNo, and it makes me happy. I started my first draft of my first novel in a composition notebook, and I haven't used one since, so it gives me feels.
But I ramble.
I have these decorative spirals that I've been using, but the composition notebook reminds me of the first draft and brings me joy.HAI LAVLY.

Not weird at all! (but keep in mind, that's coming from me) I think that's so awesome! I just write on my computer at my desk in my room. Boring. Wish I had some unique place to write!

Breakfast table right beside the french doors so the light can spill over my paper. (It sets the mood)
I do a lot of the chapter summaries on notecards i carry in my purse and write the story on my laptop or in one of my notebooks if i happen to be writing it in the middle of class
