That's another book I want to read, Out Stealing Horses by Per Patterson.

Me also.
Me also.

Await Your Reply by Dan Chaon
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Sunday Money by Jeff McGregor

I am reading Dracula and Cash - Johnny Cash's Autobiography... Have been so busy I haven't had time to pick up a book but things are slowing and I think I am off to a good start again!

Now I am reading Run For Your Life - James Patterson & Michael Ledwidge.

Have you seen the movie? It's wonderful. This is one of my all time favorite books/movie! Hope you enjoy it!!!

I really like it so far. I am a little over a hundred pages. I think her writing is amazing in the book and she has a very interesting array of characters. I got it really quickly from the library though. I guess no one around me wanted the book because I managed to be the first one.

Hi Julie! No, I have yet to see the movie! But after reading this book I am definitely going to be checking it out soon. Thanks!!

and Kathleen McGowan's "The Expected One". I am now
reading "Serena" by Ron Rash for my book club. Am also
listening to the first Harry Potter book in the car,
and love it. Reviews to come later.

So what did you think of Loving Frank?

Donna, I liked 'Loving Frank'. The author did an excellent job writing a readable story and writing objectively about a very difficult subject.
She held my attention from Page 1 to the very last sentence. The author didn't have much history about the main female character, Memah, but I felt Nancy
Horan crafted believable thoughts, conversations and
acts between FLW and Memah. Given the bad publicity,
the numerous financial losses, and breaking relationships with family and friends, theirs was an enduring love.
I'm afraid to say more for fear I'll inadvertently
slip in a spoiler. If you've read it, how about we
discuss it somewhere else?

Everyone's reading 'Serena' at the moment, it feels. I hope you'll tell us what you think of it.

Lauren,
I'm listening to the unabridged audio version from
Audible.com. The author will be reading and signing
his book at Quail Ridge Books over in Raleigh tonight
at 7 (I think). I can't make it to that, but must
have it read by (or listened to) by October 30 for my book club. I think this book just came out in trade paperback too. I saw it on the NEW ARRIVALS table in Brier Creek's B&N. I'm not sure, but I'm beginning to think this author is local, because he's mentioning landmarks in North Carolina.
Narrator is male and superb. I've heard him before,
but at the moment I can't think what else I've heard
him narrating. Anyway, I'm getting the impression
Serena is brash, brassy and maybe a tad evil. Now listening to Chapter 3. I think she's met her match
in Pemberton. Have to get a map of NC and start looking up some of these places.

Let us know what you thought when you finish. I read it about 3 weeks ago.

Shannon and Julie, I finished that one about a month
ago. Good writer. Kept me turning the pages, and loved
the history of the Salem Witch Trials. NO SPOILERS.

No spoilers here either. I liked the idea of the book and definitely enjoyed the historic bits but found the main character to be too stupid to be believable. That wrecked it for me. I wish there was more about the Physick book and how it was passed along etc. Then I could have overlooked our heroine's shortcomings. (She was a PHD candidate afterall).
