message 4268: by Eva (new)

Eva King | 1071 comments Nice one! Emme told me that michael has a few offensive swear words in his story, I've asked her to see if she could tell him to tone them down a bit, last thing i want is for the charity to say no...

message 4269: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I agree.

message 4270: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I thought you said Michael had pulled out.

Morning to you both, well just!

I went back to bed this morning I have had a sore throat for a couple of days and it chose this morning to get worse, I'm running a temperature too. Fancy coming down with Tonsillitis at my age!

I have to go and pick the girls up today for lunch, they're having beef, carotts, onions and mushrooms in gravy I cooked it for a couple of hours last night and I finished it off this morning a few chips, and some garden peas and we should have two very clean plates! Sophie had the weirdest meal yesterday at her friends! pizza with rice and pasta? WTF was that all about!

message 4272: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Sounds like a dish they do in turkey. Everything was with chips and rice and sometimes there was mash as well.

Yep that's what I thought, at least I know when they're with me they eat a balanced meal no wonder the two of them are battling with their weight! They are too young to diet, but at least when they are with me they get good food and not crap! Two days running last week they had pasta and burgers!

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Darkangel wrote: "Oh right."

I got up to page 6 of my revision last night, lots of spare commas deleted, I love my commas apparently! They don't have wonderbox in America! Emme didn't understand what it was, I will explain when I re-submit the story the idea behind the wonderbox!

message 4278: by Eva (new)

Eva King | 1071 comments what is wonderbox? never heard of it either...

message 4279: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Eva wrote: "what is wonderbox? never heard of it either..."

Wonderbox is the gift box you buy when you can't think of anything else to buy for your spouse, ranging from gourmet meal for two to parachuting weekend to formula 3 racing at Silverstone, spa weekends romantic weekends in a haunted castle with four poster beds. We even have them here in the supermarkets in France!

message 4280: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Darkangel wrote: "Oh right."

What's the equivalent of Wonderbox in England called?

message 4281: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Red letter days/packages

message 4282: by Eva (new)

Eva King | 1071 comments ahh! yeah, we've got them here as well, even with the same brand! experience package?

Never actually bought one, though I might get Alain to get me and his mother a spa day for Christmas! Jo's had them she jumped solo from a plane, almost killed herself the silly sod, she was so scared she forgot everything she'd learnt in the training day before!

message 4284: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments New game, you got a library near where you live? If so next time you're passing and it's open go in and order The Thin Blue Line - and they'll get a copy. ISBN 13 9789 1616674618, ask mum and all your relatives to do the same where they live. That should bump my sales up! Remember we want to have the swimming pool in and working for when you and monst come over next year, and we can sit and sip peniscolada's by the pool!

I think they probably will if they have an English section in there,European Union and all that,it would be against human rights to refuse!

I'm going to give it a try in Guern tomorrow, they have an English section! Plus my book gives the village and surrounding villages free advertising!

message 4289: by Eva (new)

Eva King | 1071 comments you try it first in your library, see what they say...let me know what happens and then i'll try in this one.
Right, I've kind of edited my first chapter. I'm ready to let someone read it and scrutinise it. Anyone up for the challenge?

message 4290: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Hey sorry not been getting notifications. Eva I am always up for a challenge, send it over.

Will get my arse to the library on Saturday and I will do just that Sarah ;o)

Sorry I just slipped out to town and then got called to the house to talk to the electrician as to where I want my plugs!

Okay Eva I'll let you know how it goes! What's the first chapter of? Is it for the Christmas Anthology?

I didn't bother with chapters for that, I just told the story!

I wondered what had happened to you Darkangel!

message 4294: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Morning all.

message 4295: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Hey Eva, I have printed off your chapter and will read it in my lunch break and then give you the feedback.

message 4296: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Darkangel wrote: "Morning all."

Morning or should I say afternoon had to go into town again Alain didn't have any food for the dog and he needed wine for the weekend, and for mother....

The word donkey springs to mind! Plus I didn't sleep well last night, my throat was so swollen I couldn't breath properly, in the end I took an anti histamine and an ibuprofen, paracetamols hadn't worked nor had tramadol! I feel like a walking chemist!

It is slightly better this morning not so swollen so maybe the combination worked!

message 4297: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Now it is my turn to feel like crap again. I have a lovely cold coming on.

Poor you, grab some paracetamol before your temperatre goes up, it helps (usually) unless like me you swallowed a packet of razor blades too! Eating my toast this morning was interesting!

The change in temperature and humidity between Turkey and good old Blighty! Sophie is coming to London on the 9th April, no other news as to where they are visiting yet

message 4299: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I have had a Beachams and has made me feel a bit better, not great but better.

I know poxy weather, never any good.

It's dry and sunny here, windy and fresh it rained during the early hours of this morning I am cooking lunch, same as yesterday with rice! Well I wasn't planning on going to town again! When I take Sophie it always costs me money, I was hoping to go tomorrow and get her riding hat or at least look at the price of them and wince! I might look on the bon coin and see if I can find one secondhand!
