No its not vanity press its independant or Indie for short, they were really good up until Christmas and then I got no replies to my emails, until I threatened legal action then I got my book released err letting me know it would be available from the 12th July would have been useful too!

So am I, as to whether I would use them again, I don't think they dare mess me about like that again I really went to town with them, bought the legal guns into play!

It rather depends on whether Sapphire Star Publishing take me on with Light The Seventh Candle or I miraculously snare an Agent!

I have just emailed Adam direct asking how I get the photo, and stuff through to Amazon and where my 10 copies are!

Morning, god what a night! I was up until past midnight working on my website! Nearly finished, I'm going to put the mermaid in the pool after first doing a sweep of earwigs naturally and then get back to the website.

I spoke to Jo and Claire my sister last night Claire went straight to FB and put a notice on her wall to all her friends to buy The Thin Blue Line - because its her sisters debut novel. She is chuffed to little mint balls for me, bet the other sister will be green with envy becase I know she will have been telling people it was all a joke! Ha put that in your pipe and smoke it Christine!

Sharon Lipman (sharonlipmanauthor) | 272 comments Morning Ladies

So sorry I haven't been here for ages. I have no excuse except that life seems to get in the way sometimes. I wish I could say I've been busy writing, but that would be a lie. What I have been doing is lying awake at night trying to decide whether the kitchen I've designed is going to work! LOL. How very mundane of me!

Anyway, I hope you gals are doing well? Sarah, are you a millionaire yet? Lots of books sales I hope!

I was wondering whether any of you would have a look at a chapter excerpt? Its not very long, but as I've said before I've been struggling with the sex - something I honestly never thought I'd hear myself say! I've written something, its completely unedited, and honestly, I'm not sure if I like it or not.

Any thoughts?

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Morning Shazzyloulou

How can we refuse an offer like that! Of course we will read the sex scene, and I know how you feel, writing sex is not easy.

Did it make you hot under the collar when you wrote it?
If the answer to that is yes the chances are it will do the same to others.

What are you like, worring about your kitchen! Lol I am having the same reservations but it's not keeping me awake at nights! I'm just going to buy the units and try to put stuff in the right place, I know I want my oven at eye level and my dishwasher under the draining board and remember not to put the fridge near the cooker! I am putting my gas hob in the island directly facing the sink and with the minimu passage in between it should be a case of simply turning around for the sink! WE HOPE!

And no, not a millionaire yet unless I won the euro millions on Tuesday night and don't know about it! My sisters friend said she would buy a copy - she likes a good chick lit! Please god let people say nice things about my baby!

message 3736: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Lipman (sharonlipmanauthor) | 272 comments My kitchen doesn't dissimilar to yours. Except my fridge may end up next to my oven.... we have an awkward slanted, beamed roof that means tall cupboards can only go in certain places. I want my oven at eye level too. I'm having an island but it will have a sink in it on one side and a breakfast bar type thing on the other. We thought about putting the hob on the island but I also want an chimney/extractor and the ceiling is too high and awkward to put it in the middle of the room.

We're buying ours from b&q and getting it shipped - same kitchen in ikea here is over €2000 yet is only around £700-£800 in B&q plus £100-£200 to deliver. Much better since Simon had a heart attack when I told him how expensive kitchens are - men are so stupid! A friend of ours has a b&q trade card so we get 20% off, but even without the discount its less than half the price.

As for the sex scene - kinda. I think may be I was analysing it too much and making sure I didn't use expressions like "down there," and other silly things.

I think maybe it might be too short and could do with embellishing.... not sure...

Lol been there with floor tiles in Normandy 42 square metres- luckily I have a 4x4, though the suspension groaned as the last box went in - didn't weigh them no idea of my payload, best not to ask under circumstances of this nature!

message 3744: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Sarah we need some tags for your book. How about mystery, chic lit, romcom etc. what else would give it a good boost?

message 3745: by Eva (new)

Eva King | 1071 comments Hey Sarah, I really want to get the book but I want it for the kindle, when will it available?

Hey Shazzy, it's ok, Sarah gave me good pointers to fix my one, print it out. It's a goos idea, i think seeing in paper it's easier to correct. I keep adding more bit to the christmas story if anyone wants to have a look.
http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/3...
Ps: sarah, im not sure I know what you meant about frist party, do you mean present tense? I find it really hard to write, I always switch back to past when i least expect it and it's a nightmmare to fix.
