No I know what you mean, but I think its more to do with the weather, I haven't even logged on to HOD today nor yesterday. Don't worry about it, I don't you know the saying all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!

We have a nice breeze here, very refreshing I will go outside in a while for now Sophie is in the pool and I have peace until another earwig jumps in to join her!

Fish and chips taste best eaten walking across the seafront in newspaper and eaten with your fingers! with lots of lovely mushy peas! Need to get some new oil for the chip pan and make that this week, its one of Alain's favourites, minus the mushy peas though!

How was it gettig in to work this morning?

Morning Eva, morning Shazzy Loulou!

Nice, that way you should miss the crush! The sun is shining here again today, not quite as warm as last week thank goodness. We had a little rain yesterday, two downpours and then the sun came out again.

message 3522: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Same as us, Had a thunderstorm for about an hour then it was fine again. Cleared the air that was for sure.

House is looking good hun but poor Simon, no KFC here's a recipe I pulled off the net they reckon this is as good as if not better than KFC!

1 cup flour
1 tblspn salt (worried about that amount I would halve it personally)I tblspn Black pepper. 2 tblspn paprika,1 tspn dried garlic, 1 heaped tspn powdered mustard, ground thyme, ground basil, ground ginger and 1/2 tspn oregano. I cup buttermilk, chicken up to 3lb of pieces. oil to fry
Mix dry ingredients together in large plastic bag.
Marinate chicken in buttermilk for 2-4 hours turning frequently remove and drain. Toss in dry mix and fry in pan half full of oil turn frequently.

Find some red and white stripey paper plates and serve!

Ps your paintings are amazing! Are you going to do a mural of the Flamenco Dancer in the house? I would if I could draw and paint like you - The only things I paint are walls with emulsion!

Wow! Thanks! I will deffo give this a go! I have most of it in the larder I think....except ginger... worth a go to get me back in the good books I think!

Thanks for the comments about the paintings. I've always wanted to do a mural but haven't had the time/space. Now I have, I definitely will. I was going to do one at the villa, but I'm glad I didn't bother given all the arsy emails I'm getting.... saying that, it's all gone quiet on that front so hopefully they've got the message now! :-)
Bizarrely, my favourite picture is just of the shoe. (bit of a random subject I know) I think its the best one - it took me the longest at any rate!

Let me know how the KFC works out! I think if buttermilk is a problem you could use ordinary milk. though I think the buttermilk is quite acid and that is what tenderises the meat, I have everything in my larder except for the buttermilk. Alain eats it for supper with bread dipped in or with a kilo of boiled potatoes! Weird! I use the rest in scones so next time he buys some I will try the KFC too!

I decided what is going in the kitchen, Alain is useless with design, if he can't dig it it's not worth the effort. He'd cover everywhere in horrible pine slats and varnish it if I wasn't there to stop him!

He mentioned it and I gave him the dead eye, 'don't you dare, you are paying out thousands to have it plastered and then you're going to cover it up with that!' He wasn't amused and neither was I! I want to paint the kitchen red and silver grey with black Japanese motifs stencilled on, I have the stencil and I will probably be able to manage that I will practice on a sheet of plywood first though! Red is his favourite colour so he's happy with that.

Morning Eva what are you up to today?

I'm back, had to cut trip short the auto bank where I get my money from was out of service so I had to drive all the way across town to get some money. If I use a certain bank till I don't get charged for transferring it from my English bank!

They don't tell you though the crafty beggars, it works out quite expensive at 1% plus another tax at about the same!

So Kentucky fried chicken recipe will have to wait until tomorrow!

Yep two days of trial and error I restored the computer twice and the new anti virus programme must have been dizzy it was downloaded that many times! I even managed to speak to Chris last night too! He was impressed that I managed it all by myself though he wants to put an all singing all dancing anti virus programme on for me to stop it happening again!

Eyebrow threading? That sounds painful! Must be all these posers going to the olympics well they want to look their best we might catch a glimpse of a bit of them if we're lucky on tele! The coverage here is more or less biased to the French teams efforts, quelle surprise!
