I'll check it out a lunch time. I get irritated by stupid descriptions of "lady gardens," and "trouser snakes," but am worried about sounding like a medical dictionary too! Funny, I really don't have a problem reading it, just writing it seems more difficult than I expected. The scene has to be hot, yet credible. Not an easy balance. Also, I keep reading about "wombs clenching," REALLY? Since when is that sexy? LOL.

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) We are watching the Olympic Torch Relay live at work, one of the secretaries is running with it today at 1.45pm english time.

how cool!

I admit I'm a little excited about the Olympics but nervous about it at the same time. I really really want the opening ceremony to be amazing, but I have a feeling it'll end up being cringeworthy and embarrassing. Danny Boyle is apparently directing, but I read somewhere that its going to feature cows in a field, morris dancers and London buses. I hope to God it was a wind up. Are people excited back home?

message 3454: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Yes they are, I heard that about Danny Boyle too. I am just not looking forward to the journey into work and attempting to get home. Archery is in Lords Cricket ground, right next to me!

The one eyed trouser snake can be quite funny, depending on the situation you put it in, has to be comical setting something to ridiculous to laugh at!

Hopefully it is with Publishers in England for appraisal, just waiting to see if they want to read the rest, I started to go through and spot edit before I sent the three chapters and synopsis. I got about 1/5th of the way through! To know how they tick you have to sit and eavesdrop on their conversations with their mates about sex! You and I have a good ruse, we are both bilingual, eavesdropping becomes so much easier when they assume we don't understand!

My husband knows I undestand, im more worried that he understands me, lol
I find it hard, the whole show vs tell, I still have loads to work on, but I cant do it until im finished...I dont know why...At the beginning I had a different name for the main character, then I found another book about the same subject with the main character called the same as mine, so I thought I better change the name before I get sued. So...that's another thing to correct when i write the second draft...

How many people are there in the world called John Smith millions you won't get sued unless you copied the story (plagerism) Finding characters names is difficult at times and then others plop they fall into your lap! I have never changed a characters name for any reason !

I must have picked up a bug, I don't feel at all well I'm running a fever on one of the hottest days in the year, not good. I'm also tracing a well worn path to the loo! I've just taken a cranberry tablet helps kill stomach bugs, especially e coli and salmonella! Precautionary measure had salmonella lost 25kg in three weeks! Drastic diet!

No Alain and I ate the same, I have a very sensitive constitution it's probably airborne germs, supermarket yesterday and the vets to pick up medicine for mothers dog!

People laugh when you say taking cranberry extract can cure ecoli and salmonella but it's true - I took 1 capsule 30 minutes ago and I don't feel quite as bad.

How are you feeling today Sarah?

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Darkangel wrote: "MOrning all,

Better today, thanks though I didn't sleep at all well, too hot, I'd been bitten too mosquitos I think that combined with the heat upstairs left me hot wet and uncomfortable! Sun's out again today, we did have several spots of rain at about 4 this morning! The map of France shows most of France with thunderstorms but not us or Marseille and Cannes! We are going to have temperatures in the high 30's, I left the blinds down in the lounge to help block the heat a bit!

Hows you? looking forward to the opening night of the games? I will switch on but we may be outside, I think we might tempt fate and have a barbecue outside!

message 3471: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I am not too sure. I am already sick of it and it hasn't even started yet. Does that make me sound bad? It is very humid here today, the sun is not out but still no air, think it may try and rain later.

It is humid here too but they have said the storms and rain will pass us by until late next week and then there will only be the odd shower!

I am being dive bombed by rabid flies, and the buggers bite! I never knew house flies bit until I came to live in France! I have a very effective fly conrol system a fly swatter and I am expert with it!

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I got bit to death last saturday, was in the garden with friends, wouldn't mind I had alcohol too, so they must have had a fill day!

Just bought a new book - Bared to You - it's the next Fifty Shades only meant to be a million times better. It is also a trilogy!

Not sure I have the stamina for another 50 shades fiasco! I started reading one yesterday afternoon, Casablanca my Heart. It is really well written, Hannah Warren is the author, I have found a couple of small errors lol and that's when I wasn't actually looking for them. silly things that the spell check won't pick up on! There was a d missing at the end of diffuse, it didn't read right and me for be!

All at the beginning of the book, such a shame! But all that said the story is captivating, and I have found errors in Stephen Kings novels too I blame the editors, or the printers, I should imagine if you point it out one would blame the other!

But worth buying at about 99 p and Hannah seems like a real nice person who deserves a chance!

message 3475: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I will give it a go. I have read a few reviews on this book, and it has a lot of praise. Think it is actually written right.

message 3476: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments http://jodierennerediting.blogspot.fr...

Interesting article on how to start your novel, that's why I have the publishers interest! I had no idea, but TBL starts with Cally and her positive test! LTSC starts with finding the professors week old corpse, the blondes starts with Arabella choosing an outfit for a meeting with her parents that they instigated and HOD starts with Charlene interested in buying a house!

Not on French tv it aint - I am reduced to Lie to me repeats and that's about it in English save the odd film - I set my language on my television and sometimes I get to watch a film in English! Providing Alain isn't there or he whinges and complains until I put it into French!
