Good, I'm glad you don't think I'm sticking my nose in, but I couldn't stand back and let someone take their own life and do nothing. Even though I am the other side of the world.

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I totally agree. I lost a friend a few years ago, but I found out 3 months after his death and my so called best mate (do not talk to her any more) didn't even tell me as she thought I was in love with Monster. Doesn't matter that he was a close friend who I had known for years. She just didn't like him.

That sucks, Jo lost a friend too the same way. She beat herself up for weeks because she turned him down the night he died. He asked her to go for a drink with him after work and she had a prior arrangement. She blamed herself for not being there for him.

A friend of ours is in hospital now he drank caustic soda. I can't think what would make a person do that to themselves. He has a wife and two children I just don't get what is so bad that he wants to end it all.

Im sad, I'm watching old episodes of Friends! Its Jo's fault she had me switch ER on because Luca and his girlfriend were about to get married and her television lost the signal! So she had to content herself with listening to it with my commentary on what was happening! Difference being I'm watching in English!

Yes but you're a lot younger and I've done it once, and I lived to tell the tale. So you'll cope with the slamming of doors, the "I hate you" yelled from inside a barricaded bedroom followed by "you never let me do anything"!!! The stamping of feet when they can't get their own way.

Lol there is an advert here with a child with the terrible two's tantrum in the supermarket. Mother gets down on the floor and throws her own tantrum!! Priceless!!

message 1266: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Yes we have that here too. Well as soon as I get all that crap, I will just take her home to her mothers early and I will cancel her ticket to Turkey. I am a bitch of a step mum - LOL

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Morning

Its cloudy here today but the sun is attempting a breakthrough and there's a cool breeze I have the fire lit, well I cheated it was still in from last night. Oak burns slowly keeping the house ticking over at a nice temperature and before the conservationists throw their hands in the air in horror. It is from sustainable sources - here in France they don't chop the entire tree down coppice-ing I think is the English name for it training it to regrow into lots of log shaped trees just right for burning. Cos if you cut all of the trees down what will replace the oxygen they produce?

message 1269: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) It is quite gray looking here. I actually have the heater on in the office and as per usual one person has to complain. I can't win!

message 1270: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments The sun must have heard me and has decided to have a go at burning off the greyness. As for the whinger in the office tell them there's an opening in a clinic in Siberia and if they like freezing their ass off why don't they take up the option!

You will be please to know I did a bit more to chapter 8. Ghostly interludes are harder to write than sex scenes! I'll send what Ive done to get an opinion on its scare factor so far!

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Sharon wrote: "Cool, I can't wait"

Its on its way, I tried to think of what would scare me. I am hard to scare - touchy feely ghosts smells and loud bangs and screams with things flying around the room work best.

The ghost film last night was naff and in French but then again for some strange reason so was Dr House! Weird!

message 1275: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I haven't seen a good horror or ghost story in a while. Will have to look in to the Woman in Black. Seen the show twice and loved it.

My favourite horror story is the old black and white version of The Haunting of Hill House. Scared the s**t out of me the remake with Catherine Zeta Jones was tame in comparison.

Paranormal activity did nothing didn't frighten me at all!

James Herbert is my favourite scare merchant, and I haven't read a good scary book for ages either.

Better get my ass in gear and get lunch and the dishes sorted and then get a shower I'm taking Alains mother shopping this afternoon. Lucky me!

message 1277: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I have not seen the origingal but I have seen the remake and I agree with you. Paranormal activity is crap. I am not a lover of the films made on hand held cameras. I quite like James Masterton especially the House that Jack Built.

Not heard of him before. Morning god I'm knackered and me knees are sore this morning. Its damp outside and foggy again they reckon we should have temperatures up into the mid twenties today!

Now I have the agent in the cellar what am I going to do with him!

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Sharon wrote: "cool, looking forward to the blubbering wreck already."

Yeah all that remains is to find time to write it! I spent all yesterday afternoon shopping with mother! Sounds like a childrens soap! We kept bumping in to everyone she knew resulting in it taking almost 2 hours to do a simple shop! Then Noz, and a quick trip round Netto next door for the things she forgot in Intermarche!

I got some more bits for the bathrooms in the new house and a couple of presents for Leon and a pair of leather court shoes for me for 8 euros! I bought Alain an apple tree for our anniversary today - 4 years - he's lasted longer than my first husband!

message 1283: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) That's sweet, same thing goes to me and monst. 6yrs together far much longer then my marriage lasted. I was thinking of getting some kind of fruit trees to plant in the garden, but I am still pondering on it at the moment.

With such a huge garden we have to put something in to fill it, may as well be something useful!

So far I have bought him a plum tree, a pear tree a bay tree and now a Granny Smith apple tree - I have two apple trees planted in the garden here that are going to be transplanted, two Jonagold I think,I grew them from seed! I have lemon trees too and Kiwi plants all from seed. The kiwis were easy it was a kiwi that was fizzy over ripe i spread the fruit and seeds in a container of soil watered it and left it. Alain laughed at me and when it grew said they were just weeds! How wrong was he, I had originally 15 kiwi plants but the mice ate them in the winter leaving me with three survivors which are now huge!

message 1285: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Wow - I like that idea. i love Kiwis

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Sharon wrote: "Wow - I like that idea. i love Kiwis"

They are dead easy to grow - I used a container which had croissants in from the supermarket poked a few holes for drainage and half filled it with compost then the mashed kiwi and then topped it up with compost watered it poked a few holes in the lid for air and closed it up. The container acted like a mini greenhouse and stopped it from drying out to quickly and kept the plants warm!

You need both a male and female plant in order to get fruit and I have three though how you sex a kiwi plant I have no idea!

Does anyone out there know how you tell a male kiwi plant from a female one? Keep it clean!

I looked online I have to wait until they flower which as yet they haven't in order to find the sex but I did find some interesting tips on training them to grow on a tree and pruning tips, and the fact the you need at least one male for up to 8 females. Naughty Kiwis!

I'm reading the thin blue line - just to remind myself I have finished and am almost a published novelist!

Yes the suns out here too now. Alain has gone to mothers to plant spuds in her garden and maybe plant the apple and the pear tree which was in a pot behind the garage. It's better for it to be in the garden because I'm a bugger for forgetting to water stuff! I should think about planting some seeds readyfor the garden, cauliflower brocolli cabbage and lettuce but I have the burn on my hand still it was so deep it still hasn't healed completely and the last thing I need is to get dirt in it.

My keyboard is sticking again time to prize the keys off and hoover it out!
