At your local library!! To my knowledge, there aren't any books here on GR that you can read online, you can just rate them, review them, and discuss them.
Hi SharonYou about I have been very naughty today, I haven't even opened the blondes so you will have to wait a few more days sorry!
How's your day been?
Hiya, there is nothing naughty about not opening the blondes - LOLMy day has been a little slow but that is only because I am now coming down with a bit of a cold. Typical I come back to work after the holidays and now I start to feel like crap. So what you been up to today?

Not a lot I went back to bed this morning after Sophie went to school I stayed up watching a late film last night!
Colds stink, mine always go to my chest I have been coughing for over a month, I no sooner get rid of one cold than Sophie gives me another!
There have been a few germ bags here at work who don't go home when they are ill and pass all their germs on to others. Thing is it will effect me hard too especially being asthmatic. Not good at all.
Sharon wrote: "There have been a few germ bags here at work who don't go home when they are ill and pass all their germs on to others. Thing is it will effect me hard too especially being asthmatic. Not good at..."Yeah germ bringers are the worse, martyrdom is what they seek, anyone else gives me a cold this year I might just oblige them!
Get Monst to slap some Vick's on your chest and back, it works wonders for me.
Sharon wrote: "That I will do ;o)"Afternoon, how are you feeling today? My cough got worse again, I may have to give in and go to the Doctors this time another germ bringer turned up here Sunday with a different bug and I think I copped for it! Lucky me, stood to reason my defences are at rock bottom. My friends luck seems to be on the turn she has a telephone interview with Stocks Hotel on Sark tomorrow, they are very interested if it comes off she will be given a years contract.
Her French boyfriend is continuing to be a 'trou de cul', but with a little help from me she is starting to bite back. He told a mutual friend that Jane was having to look for work on one of the islands, and coming back just for holidays. She stepped in and told him I will decide if and when I come back and where and who I stay with! He tried again and said that she now doesn't have the use of a car so finding work is difficult. |Lucky for her I'd given her the amunition this morning, she turned round and said if she was offered a weeks work she would go to Super U and hire a car, sans permis.
His face was a picture apparently, he should have been nice and kept to his bargain. Now he has two intelligent beings focused on causing him as much embarassment as possible.
He is still trying to portray his image as being that of concerned boyfriend to people who already know what a trou de cul he really is!
Hiya, I am a lot worse today. Going home in a moment and don't think I will be in tomorrow. Good for your friend. Us women have to stand up to idots like him. He might actually start to think before he acts.
Hi HunHow are you now? I still have a cold I followed French doctors guidline for when you have a cough, take antihistamines to open up your airways only trouble is it masks the symptons of the real cold beneath which is what I now have, lucky me!
Oh well the high dosage vitamin c should boost my overworked immune system soon I hope. Its bloomin cold here today again minus 5 during the night it was still freezing at 8 this morning when Sophie caught the taxi to school. I felt rough so back to bed I went, we have rain forecast for tomorrow and my knees hurt like hell. Roll on summer!
In order to think the trou de cul would have to have a brain in the first place, mummy's told him he doesn't need Jane cluttering up the place. But as Jane reminded him you can't **** your mother! He needn't come crying to me when she's gone and he's all alone I've done with him, Alain too he is persona non grata here from now on!
I am feeling a lot better now thanks. had a few days off to recover and it seemed to work. It was very cold here last night and today. I could not get warm last night. Sorry to hear that you now have a horrible cold. You just need to rest like I did and hopefully you will feel better soon.
Sharon wrote: "I am feeling a lot better now thanks. had a few days off to recover and it seemed to work. It was very cold here last night and today. I could not get warm last night. Sorry to hear that you no..."Glad you're feeling well I am resting I spend all day doing nothing except a little writing and some embroidery. With all the vitamins and supplements I'm popping I should be bouncing with vitality! Hopefully by the spring they will be showing signs of doing me good, I know the effect of natural substances are slower in coming good than chemicals.
How's your dad now, I thought about him this morning as I popped my daily Horse Chestnut and Hawthorn pill followed by the red vine, lowers the blood pressure naturally so I am reliably informed - clinical trials have been done. Puts new life into tired veins, makes them more elastic and stops them leaking fluid into your body which causes odoema and makes your legs feel like lead. Sock marks, apparently if you have them your veins leak water!
Sharon wrote: "My dad is fine now, he is taking a lot of meds everyday but luckily we have had no more scares."Tell him to ask the doc if the horse chestnut would help him - not take it without asking because it could intereact with medecines he is already taking.
Depending if his Doctor is up for new age remedies natural homeopathic and a blood pressure monitor here in Lidl costs just 20 Euros - I am getting one for me better safe than sorry!
Lauren (Flame) wrote: "Guys! I met John Green yesterday! It was so awesome. He signed my book and I got some great tips from him."Cool, who is he? (It is neat to meet any author you have read and I am sure I have read something of his I just don't remember that I did)
Lauren (Flame) wrote: "He wrote Looking For Alaska, Paper Towns, The Fault In Our Stars, etc. :) He signed The Fault In Our Stars for me. It was great."I loved paper towns, and that's awesome!
Hi SharonHow are you feeling this morning? I still have a cold I am well and truly fed up of it.
I bought myself a manicure/pedicure set the other day an electric one, I have terrible dry skin on my heels, a bit like crocodile hide! It works great in a few seconds they were sanded smooth, I now need to cream them up to stop it happening again.
I am now going to play with the other gadget I bought a waffle maker, bannana chocolate waffles with squirty cream for dessert today I think, reminds me of Scarborough sea front!
Hiya, hmmm that sounds nice, save one for me. I think I need to invest in the manicure/pedicure set, my heels are pretty bad. I am still tempted to get a foot fish spa at the weekend to start it off.
Sharon wrote: "Hiya, hmmm that sounds nice, save one for me. I think I need to invest in the manicure/pedicure set, my heels are pretty bad. I had a pile of dead skin to sweep up afterwards! It's wearing sandals or flip flops that make it worse, my mum had heels worse than mine! So that rules out the word that would trip off the doctors tongue - 'lose weight' because my mum was about 8 stone wet through!
Yes we have a Lidl and one that is not far from where I live actually. I am taking madam shopping on Saturday, I will have a little look. I think it is about time I treated myself :)
Sharon wrote: "Yes we have a Lidl and one that is not far from where I live actually. I am taking madam shopping on Saturday, I will have a little look. I think it is about time I treated myself :)"Sorri I disappeared lunch for 4 hungry men and then Jane rang to cry on my shoulder again, for almost an hour. There is nothing else I can do I can't make Pascal stop being a trou de cul, neither can I magic another partner for her to tag onto. The one I lined up for her she didn't fancy or rather she took a younger option for the night!
Now she wants to know if the guy would still be interested in her!!!! I give up, my magic wand can't turn back time, she now has Hobson's choice left to her, go back to England find another job look for a man and hang on for dear life. And try not to look at the talent and wish for greener fields!
Treat yourself,I would pick one up for you from here but the plug would be all wrong!

Hi JennyNot a lot going off today on here. I'm taking a brief respite before I commence operation feed the workers again! My boyfriend is rebuilding his grandmothers old house and this week he is on holiday giving the builder a helping hand, to make it cheaper in the long run.
So I volunteered to do restaurant duty! My dad told me never to volunteer, did I listen? Apparently not, we are having Paella Royale today for the main course it has mussels, prawns, onions, tomatoes, peas, arborio rice, garlic, white wine, fish stock and chicken pieces. That's my version anyway you should have calamari too but I don't like it because it's rubbery!
Sliced tomatoes, ham, boiled egg and grated carrot in vinaigrette for starter and peach and apple pie with cream for dessert. Well these guys are working hard out in the cold and when they come in they are usually famished!
This afternoon I have to start cooking tomorrow's lunch we have 2 extra workers tomorrow! Cassoulet should put a lining on their stomachs and keep the cold out for the afternoon.
Sharon wrote: "Better make that for 3 extra, I'm on my way ;o)"Is that for the Paella or for the Cassoulet? Morning hun how's you?
for both - LOLI am fine that hun, just booked tickets to the ballet. Of to finally see Swan Lake in March. Coming locally and the tickets are only £24 which is a bargain especially for the Moscow ballet. How are you?

Why never volunteer? I love to volunteer.

I have always wanted to see a Moscow ballet (it's on my list of things to do in life)

Ooh men in tights! No does nothing for me that I watched Billy Elliot, no I like men to be men!
Loveley sunny day here though we have a snow warning for tonight. Alain laughed when I told him you were on your way for Paella and staying for Cassoulet, today we are having Roast Guineau Fowl with all the trimmings, I laid an extra place in readiness!
The cassoulet was yummy, Alain said the best ever, trouble is the recipe makes so much it reckons on feeding 8 to 10 make that more like 15 to twenty! Mother is having Cassoulet for lunch today, she had Paella yesterday too! Gerard is also probably having Cassoulet and I still have enough for 8 people in the freezer!

That's okay you two it's because that's what wives and mother's do if they don't work, cook for people who are less able than themselves.
These guys are all living alone, cooking them a nice meal is my way of saying thank you for the help they are giving my friend in rebuilding his house. I will help too when the inside work starts by helping with the painting and maybe the tiling but until then I'm relegated to the kitchen!
Hey I have three birthday cakes to make too this month the first of which is on Sunday the second the following day and the third twelve days later. I am making a loads of money cake for the first birthday 60 years old a widower, no hobbies - I hope he will be amused by the gesture at the moment I am printing one side of bank notes to stick with icing sugar on to roll out icing, a couple of bags of chocolate coins scattered here and there and a bank sack made from a cake iced tied with liquorice laces with money poking out of the top and then pieces of cake, cut and arranged like stacks of money with the fake note (printed on one side only on cheap paper)and a black eye mask like the Daltons wear in Lucky Luke!

That sounds like an awesome cake :)
I enjoy reading just because I am a young cook and I like to listen to those who are a bit more experienced.

I sincerely hope so Irene because it's for a 60th Birthday of a friend who I believe has never had a birthday cake made specially for him in his entire life and that's sad.
I am making a television or DVD player for the second and a fairytale castle for the third. Cakes like this are not difficult you just have to have a vivid imagination and anything is possible!
