I have the backbone of a story to work on. If I have time I may try another one as well.Have you had much interest in the writing group? Will there be any cost?
Sharon wrote: "Morning all"Morning all, morning Eva, Sharon,
Finally the sun is shining here in Brittany after a week of nothing but grey skies! Alain and his brother are starting the footings for the garage today, and his brother in law is going in to hang the doors. Then I can go back to my job of painting. I must be mad, I actually like painting doors!
No cost to start with as we can use the quiet room for free in the library. If the group gets bigger there may be a charge of £1-£2 each to pay for the room. At the moment there are 3 people, but I don't mind it starting small and building up. I have the flyers (with the correct address) will put a few in teh cab offices and in teh library itself. Hopefully get a few more people. Once we get a good group going and ideas flying I will contact NAWG and get us a bit more out there.
Sharon wrote: "I got your email Eva. If you find out how much, we will have a discussion."Cool, i will ask her. i hope she won't take the mickey and charge us a ton of cash.
@Tony, morning to you too, great news on the course; what company are you using?
Psla tasca is absolute rubbish, but then again I'm in Spain with proper spanish food, lol!

My goodnes we all were busy little bees, I went to Alain's mother's with Sophie, Grandmother's day her yesterday. Sophie wanted to choose her own flowers!
She chose a pastel arrangement, only to find she didn't have enough money to pay for it so mother had to step in and bail her out.
We put a photograph of her dog, Petit, into a frame for her too, it had to be put to sleep last year, and she misses it. That had pride of place on the table yesterday.
Hi Eva,The course is with Chapterhouse.
I only have the ribs at La Tasca, I haven't tried anything else!
Tony wrote: "Oooo, good news.I love ribs, very messy though. Where did you go? The best ribs I have had were at La Tasca."
I love ribs too, but the only way to get them here is to cook them myself, I am becoming an expert! People who don't like sweet and sour tuck in, and one guy never got past the ribs, he just kept going back for more! I tend to opt for Chinese style ribs as oppose to barbecue sauce flavoured, as that seems to be the preferred style with our circle of friends.
I have far to many Mums to buy for!My mum, my wife's mum (whose birthday is on the 9th), my wife, my twins mum.
On top of that, my brother and sister in law gave birth to my first nephew on Saturday :-)
March is the second most expensive month of the year.
Sharon wrote: "That is so sweet. It is Mother's day here on 10th March. Taking my mum to a craft show."It's nice for Sophie, because all her real grandparents are dead, and even though mamie is sometimes cross and crochety Sophie still goes back for more.
She's a bit like a puppy, and when mamie tells her she has to try harder at school she listens. We have to bribe her! Not sure which works best!

You should try making them at home Tony, it is so simple, lol the last barbecue one of our friends said 'he was so full he must have ate a dinosaur', and with all the bones on his plate he must have re-visited the ribs several times!

did you have to remotgage the house or the fees are resonable?
I'm only buying a card for my mother in law and a card for my mum. i have the great excuse of being too far.

April's mine, we have 4 birthdays at the end of April, mine on the 20th, Leon, my grandson's on the 27th, Alain's mother's, on the 28th and Joanne,my eldest daughter's on the 29th!
Unfortunately, Sarah, me and cooking don't mix. I have only just mastered cheese omelette!Eva, I got a special deal on the course and paid £166. I think the price is normally over £300. Are you thinking of having a look?

Mine is December. My dads is the 1st, then it's quite quiet until my twins on the 22nd, Christmas (which is also one of my best mates birthday) and my sister in law on Boxing Day.

ribs are easier than a cheese omlette, all you have to do is rememer to turn them and take the foil off half an hour before serving to thicken the sauce. You will need wet wipes and loads of serviettes too, most people get sauce everywhere and Tommy Tippee bibs would be great to stop that!
Tony wrote: "Mine is December. My dads is the 1st, then it's quite quiet until my twins on the 22nd, Christmas (which is also one of my best mates birthday) and my sister in law on Boxing Day."
That was bad timing, or good timing, only one present to buy instead of Christmas and birthday presents. Sophie has put in a request for a trip to McDonalds with 2 of her friends, now usually about this time of year I get a book of tickets with bog offs on Big Mac's and stuff!
Tony wrote: "Well, I have plenty of bibs so I may have to give it a go!"I'll sort out the recipe if you like, for my style Chinese ribs, definitely finger licking good, sorry Colonel Sanders!

Yeah, to tell the truth I really want to study English literature with Open Uiversity but it's so expensive that I will have to wait a few years. At the moment I'm doing the online course of TEFL, so i can teach Engish as a foreign language. But once that's finished I can start something new.

Jo took A level English Lit years ago, I seem to recall her passing cost me a fortune, some fancy underwear from a shop in Derby, I paid £40 for a pair of knickers for her to match the basque she'd bought. she wouldn't tell me how much that was!

Woohoo! I'll make a note in my diary! I'm not saying how old I am on the 20th April, you will have to look at my profile to find out!
http://www.writersdigest.com/editor-b...This is quite funny, but shows how important writing a synopsis really is!
That would be good, Sarah, you have my email I believe. (Oh and happy 57th for April!)I would love to do an English course but cost is an issue.
I hit 30 last year.

That's the same reason why I'm waiting, my mum went back to university in her 40's so I'm willing to wait.
@Sarah, we finally found a flat, now just have to wait and see if the paperwork is final. It doesn't have an oven so i've already been hinting my mum for it as a bday present. At the moment she's so proud i won a writing competition that I think i could ask for the moon and she would do her best to get it. Bless her.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for the flat! Lol my dad was like that when I went on television, A Place in the Sun, he went round telling everyone about it.
The most embarrassing moment I had was walking into the bank the day after the programme was aired and the girl behind the counter studied me for a few seconds, stood up and shouted at the top of her voice, 'I saw you on the tele last night!' I smiled embarrassed and said yes, that's right you did. whereby everone in the bank turned and looked at me as if I'd grown two heads! The mad teller continued 'I told my mum you were one of the banks customers and she didn't believe me. She even bet me a tenner, can you sign your autograph so I can claim my ten quid please!
Sharon wrote: "Well I will be 37 this year if that helps (actually probably not) ;o)"I remember reading this on a saucy postcard at the seaside:-
You're as old as you feel, and when you stop feeling you're old!

That's embarassing, well you could get her done for breaching data protection. When i worked in the bank we were told not to say to anyone who were our customers.
but anyway, that's a different story.

I would never be that mean, she was so chuffed that she'd recognised me and that she was right, how could I burst her bubble!
Sharon wrote: "LOL - that is so funny."Yes, I thought so afterwards. I never thought anyone would actually recognise me afterwards. How wrong was I, even friends from school, who I hadn't seen since school recognised me!
Eva wrote: "I better go and pick up the kiddies!"Are they not on holiday too? Okay talk to you later Eva!
Lol I just prepared lunch and washed the dishes in minutes, well I defrosted the salmon and took the packet of couscous out of the cupboard! I can't cook it until the man himself turns up or it will be spoilt!Felling better today, the stress of the past few weeks has got to me. With Hugo, the house, Jo, the book. Hit me Friday morning, IBS is so debilitating, everything you eat hurts your stomach an hour down the line! Relaxation, hypnotherapy session this afternoon I think. Roughly translates into half an hours snooze, as I always fall asleep!
Sarah wrote: "Eva wrote: "I better go and pick up the kiddies!"Are they not on holiday too? Okay talk to you later Eva!"
my kids aren't on holiday until the end of the month.
Sharon wrote: "You will probably have a little more then half an hour ;o)"Hey Sharon, I found another editor who is willing to help us for free. What do you think?
Sharon wrote: "Free is a great way to go as it is for charity."That's what I thought. I don't have extra pennies for paying for an editor at the moment. so I'll send this lady another email and I'll introduce her to the group.

What no half term? Sophie will be on holiday again for Easter, whenever that is this year!
