Happy Sunday, have you visited Amazon and looked at your reviews? You have one there from Eclair2710 my pseudonymn on Amazon. Lol if you hate it the dog did it, honestly it wasn't me!

Happy sunday to you too!
I don't know if you've seen a thread here in struggling writers, a small publishing company's asking for short stories,..."
You had the element of romance in there too Eva, sex and violence tend to go hand in hand, remember the film 'Straw Dogs' with Dustin Hoffman and I can't remember the female in questions name, I can see her face and her name is on the tip of my tongue. Grr don't you just hate it when that happens, she's blonde with googly eyes.....
auch weel! got an answer already, pretty quick; but this is what they saidThank you for your submission. At this time we don't really have a place for this piece at Olivia Eden.
We are more into the publication of artistic prose poetry and stories, we haven't really entered into
the mystery or pulp novel realm yet. Thank you!
they should really be more specific, don't you think?

Well it wasn't a rejection at least more of a diversion! Lol look at it this way, now you can work on it some more get it up to 3000 words and send it in to one of the short story competitions - Yeovil have one that is open now, entries close in May, there is a fee but it's only small and you have the chance to win a prize!
And yes, they should have been more specific as to the genres they were looking for!
Morning AllThis is for all of you with a problem with editing a fellow Twitter follower has offered to edit 1000 words for free on her website. Here's the link http://myindependenteditor.com/ Why not follow Susan on Twitter?
The good news just keeps a coming... The man engaged to install the septic tank at our new house is coming to start work tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday morning at the latest. The plumber is there this week so that will work out perfectly, lights, followed by loos! Houston we have an end in sight! I'm celebrating the good news with a nice hot mug of cup a soup whilst working on chapter 41` of HOD!

Thanks for this Sarah, I'll have a looksie.
Good news on your house, well done.
I'm about to callthe lawyers to find out how much their fees are going to sting us for renting the new flat.
Had a look, the 1000 words free looks good, ut then she charges by hour instead of word count. In my opinion to edit a whole manuscript it will take quite a few hours, which would end up pretty expensive. Emme, on the other hand has a set price

Just keep telling yourself I have an oven and an extra bedroom the cost is justifiable, ask for terms, all lawyers will let you pay in installments quite happily, especially in these difficult times and if they don't report them to the Law Society their governing body!

lol, you're tough as nails!
Morning Tony!

Tony wrote: "Thanks for emailing the synopsis over Sharon. I look forward to the book." It will be a while before it escapes, I have to finish writing it first, as well as editing the second book again on what I hope will be the final cut! Which reminds me I must touch base with Keith to let him know what's happening and what is afoot with Cally's Secret! There was talk of selling the foreign rights to a Spanish publisher, the Chinese love chick lit too apparently its one of their favourite genres!

I thought you published caly's secret, are you selling it to a spanish publisher? god im so confused, better get another coffee
Good news. What does everyone find most difficult with their writing. I really struggle with planning. I find it easier to sit down with just a vague idea but then I only manage to write a short story rather than the epic saga running round my head.
Tony you should carry a note book with you at all times, so when you have that story or idea running around you write a few notes. Close your note book and then go back to it at a later date. It might help you to write more towards the saga instead of a short story.

yup, having worked for solicitors I know all the tricks!
Good for you. I do leave myself memos on my phone if I can't get to my notebook. I do have a few ideas on my phone.
Sharon wrote: "You go girl, get it out to as many different countries as possible."Morning, I intend too, I just emailed Keith, let him know I am still a possibility or more to the point I am still alive and kicking. I told him about Cally's Secret too even sent him the link to Amazon. I'm on a roll this week!
Eva wrote: "Sarah wrote: "Tony wrote: "Thanks for emailing the synopsis over Sharon. I look forward to the book." Nothing is written in stone, but hell, you have to speculate to accumulate and if the answer is still no I will publish on Amazon myself. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
Keith is also the person who said he might be able to place Cally's Secret with a Spanish publisher - sell the right to publish in Spanish.

Stopping, knowing when enough is enough - Cally's Secret 104,000 + The Menorah Murders 118,000+ HOD 72,000 and rising!

I think we are all guilty of that sin from time to time!
My problem is finding the actual time to write. When I am inspired, I have to work, when I am free I have no inspiration!

It's a possible, the opera isn't over until the fat lady sings!
I presume so seeing as he asked about Cally's Secret, I think he's always on the lookout for new talent! someone has to replace the old favourites as they retire or die!
Sharon wrote: "My problem is finding the actual time to write. When I am inspired, I have to work, when I am free I have no inspiration!"Why not invest in a dictaphone or record stuff on your mp 3, whilst eating lunch or while you are working, try your plot out on Fiona whilst recording it surreptitiously!
Eva can you read French? Because I have some quiche recipes that have just dropped into my in box, trouble is they are in French. Though you might be able to translate with Bing or one of the other translating tools I think?
Sharon wrote: "Think I might sort some stuff out today. I actually feel in the mood ;o)"Hod is open, and I have written a little towards chapter 41 like about 2 pages + over the weekend.
Sharon wrote: "Yes absolutely."I'm gonna send you the recipes anyway partly because they are quiche without pastry - good for dieting! providing you use 0% creme fraiche or fromage frais!
Sharon wrote: "Yes absolutely."Good, I tried to explain about the poison I found that matched my description of the tramp smiling in his bed, I think he's getting worried about me being obsessed by killing people off with poison. He looked at me a bit funny! Maybe it lost something in the translation?
