Both Sophie and Joanne were just three when they asked for a Barbie, Joanne played with hers up until she was 14 and Sophie show's no sign of getting bored with hers. I promise not to go blind - I'll wait until I have a nice sunny day before I make the clothes I promise.

And I'll be happy to look at your novel for you when you've finished it and thanks for the publishers thing. I have almost finished the revision of Cally's Secret I'm up to chapter 65 - all being well I should finish it for the end of the week and then I will take a look at Amazon and createspace. It is already formatted, so it should be a case of just transferring it by cut and paste I hope! If I get stuck I will give you a shout if that's alright by you.

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) It's grey and dull here, but still very cold. We are expecting rain by the end of the week, huge amounts of it :o(

We had our share yesterday, my drive is like a quagmire and no matter where you park you step outinto the mud!

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Well I think I am going to start looking for a new job. They want me to take my piercings out. Only allowed to have one studd in the ear, I have 4 little studs and a tiny nose piercing. They can think again. Not long had my nose done, and it was the worst one, so they can take a running jump. Its not like it will effect my work.

That's a bit much, I could understand if you were a nurse and with the patients in theatre but not sat behind a desk. Any way when you take them out and leave them out the holes have a habit of healing up, one of mine has so I can't wear my earings now, I kept taking them out and then forgetting to put them back in, my own fault.

I used to have to take them out when I worked in the factory packing chocolates, but that was understandable, we were only allowed to wear our wedding rings, and only then if they didn't contain stones!

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) They have only just bought these new policies in. It's ridiculous. If we ahve our hair tied up, the band needs to be the same colour as our hair. I was never told that when I was a school.

So you had your piercings when they gave you the job yes? All except for the nose and with your hair down they can't even see them. I'd get together with the rest of the staff and get a petition up, ask the patients if your piercings would stop them coming to the hospital, show them the proof, if they are on your side the powers that be won't have a leg to stand on. Or all of you hand your notices in at the same time that would drop them in the s**t, good and proper!

message 7810: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Well, my boss has already said, she don't know what she will do without me, just looks like they will have to find out.

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Sharon wrote: "Well, my boss has already said, she don't know what she will do without me, just looks like they will have to find out."

By yourself a newspaper and leave it open at the jobs page on your desk and ring all those that are intersting! When you find a job, go to the doctors after you hand your notice in tell him your back hurts and work your notice out on the sick!

message 7812: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I did that with my last job - Got signed off due to stress ;o)

Can't fault you on that, if they are prepared to lose a good PA because she has her ears pierced more than once they need their bumps felt!

That strange yellow thing high in the sky is making a welcome appearance, been so long since we have seen it I've forgotten what you call it!

message 7814: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Try and send some of that yellow stuff over this way ;o)

message 7815: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Sharon wrote: "Try and send some of that yellow stuff over this way ;o)"

Okay but it's a bit weak and not very willing at the moment, a bit like my fire which appears to have given up the ghost! Nope its still burning, it must be cold outside!

message 7816: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Oh well, looks like the yellow stuff will stay your way then. Better luck next time.

message 7817: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Sharon wrote: "Oh well, looks like the yellow stuff will stay your way then. Better luck next time."

It won't stay long anyway, never does there are black clouds on the horizon so before long it will probably tip it down!

Have you thought of trying one of the Nuffield Trust Hospitals - Bupa private ones, there must be one somewhere in Essex and being private they may pay better than the NHS!

message 7818: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I have looked at them, and in all honesty there is nothng at the moment. I have updates if any jobs come up.

Are you signed up with any Agencies, and you should be able to register with the Job centre on the professional register being a PA and receive a newspaper every month with all the professional jobs in.

message 7820: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I will update my CV first and send it out.

message 7824: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Sharon wrote: "It doesn't appear to be thick enough to settle, but looks can be deceiving!"

Let's hope it doesn't settle or you will have problems getting home. I would send out my CV to all the private hospitals and clinics nearer home, that way you would save a fortune on train fares and get a couple of extra hours in bed each day!

message 7825: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) True, but I will drop over £16,000 in salary, which I can not do. I keep looking and PA positions are for £13,500. I started on that when I left college.

message 7826: by Sarah (new)

Yes I remember you saying that before when you were thinking of leaving, what you have to work out is how much you would actually be worse off. You would be paying less tax and National Insurance, and your train fares each day, okay taking a 16,000 drop in salary is extreme but surely in the private hospitals they must pay better than the NHS.

message 7827: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Not really, but I will keep looking and hopefully something good will pop up. I wont give up.

Of course it will, it always does.

And on a lighter note, drum roll please.........

I finished the revision of Cally's Secret! I'm ready to publish now Eva!

message 7829: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Woohoo, get you. Well done. Are you going to do book and ebook?

message 7830: by Sarah (last edited Jan 23, 2013 06:26AM) (new)

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Yes, I'm sick of being taken for a prat by Raider-I'm withdrawing TBL from their listings. They can get stuffed! I'm doing it now to minimise more money disappearing into Adam Salviani's pockets that should be nesting in my bank account to pay for my pool!

Okay what do I do next I wonder?

message 7831: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Start transferring over to Creatspace. At least you can add the bits that Raider left out of your original one.

OMG really? Why how does it stop you doing your job? It is not offensive, it is not affecting your work or any one else's work. Tell them you are suffering from stress due to your freedom and individuality being curtailed and look for something else. What will they do if you refuse? I bet if they sacked you you could take them to tribunal.

Blooming template still hasn't downloaded and I have given up for the night-its getting late and I have still to do the dishes - The cover and everything else was a doddle but my book apparently is 20 x 20 instead of 6 x9! Like the Christmas Anthology!

You can change the template size. I chose 6 by 9 but there are other sizes.

The rest was a doddle I tried something tonight which may or may not work, I put the file into book mode onscreen and saved it.... Fingers crossed it will have approximately 400 pages give or take. I'll crack this and then move on to kindle. Wish me luck.

Its a lovely sunny day today cold, and crisp and I got lumbered again with taking Alain's mother shopping this morning. Another 3 hours wasted! I do my shopping in under an hour and then follow at a snails pace why she examines every item in the shop and stops and chinwags with the whole of France!

He was the one that bloody volunteered me in the first place! My computer decided to block up and Alain then had another go at me for spending hours on my computer I'd only switched it on at his request to look for something for him......GRRRRRRRRR

Lucky you, I have Jo, Herve, a friend of Herve's called nounours (his names Stephane really) and my grandsons so I will be glad when Sunday night comes and I can collapse in a heap with a strong beverage!

I got some real bargains today, a wool jumper for Alain in powder blue for spring, two pairs of leggings for me, a pair of leggings, and two jumpers and a pair of slippers for Sophie all for 30 Euros!
